Description of 1965 Triumph Other

For sale is my 1965 Triumph TR4. I bought this car about 2 years ago from a man in North Carolina. It was a nearly rust free car. I replaced one sill and welded in a small patch in the driver floor board where it had some bad pitting. I completely dismantled the car, ad the frame sand blasted and the body bead blasted. The car was painted whiledisassembled. The bottom of the car and inside the fenders look just as nice as the rest of the car. During the reassembly of the car, found for sale a British made after marketsurry top and bought it for the car. That was quite a find because they are very rare. Thesurry top was painted after the rest of the car and has some little dimples in the clear coat thatdon't show up in the pictures. I have never had anyone comment on them, ut they are there. The car has new wheels and goodyear Eagle Sport speed rated tires.I wanted the car to be a better performing car than the standard TR4, o I built a 3.4 V6 engine from a 1993 Camero and installed it with it's 5 speed T5 transmission. The engine was bored 30 over, nd I installed flat top pistons and a performance cam. I installed an Eddelbrock intake with a Holley 390 cfm 4 barrel carburetor. I would estimate it has about 190 HP. The car runs very normal when just using the first 2 barrels, ut when you step on it and open up all 4 barrels it takes on a whole new personality. For engine cooling, am using the stock radiator with a large 2 speed electric fan with a shroud. I have driven the car in very hot and muggy weather it will not overheat in slow city traffic or while carving curvy country roads. The only time it gets over 220 degrees is when driving it over 70 mph on the interstate. It has never been hot enough to boil over. I built this car to keep and drive, ut I guess my age is showing because I find that I really miss air conditioning and Cadillac comfort. I didn't plan ondriving the car in bad weather, o the heater and vent are not hooked up. I would encourage anyone interested in this car to come check it out and drive it. I have put almost a thousandmiles on it since I finished it this spring. Please feel free to call me with any questions. My name is John and my cell phone # is 615-428-6971. My financial investment in this car is about $28,000 and that does not include a penny for a year and a half of my labor. This is a no "reserve auction" so someone is going to get a very good deal on a beautiful, trong running TR4.
