The reasons for this difference came down to price pressures of the American market, nd tighter emissions regulations. The TR250'sstraight-six enginedelivered 111bhp (81kW), 9bhpless than the TR5; 0-60mph (0-97km/h) acceleration took 10.6seconds.[2][5] In 1968, he TR250 sold in North America for approximately $3,395, ith wire wheels being another $118, verdrive $175 andair conditioninganother $395.[6] Specifications[edit]Standard equipment included frontdisc brakes, independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steeringand a four speed gearbox. Optional extras includedoverdriveandwire wheels. Both the TR5 and the TR250 were available with the "Surrey Top" hard top system: a weather protection system with rigid rear section including the rear window and removable fabric section over the driver and passenger's heads. |
