Description of 1971 Triumph Other |
Up for sale is my 1971 Triumph GT6 and I don't even know where to begin describing it other than the fact that it has to be one of the most well sorted Triumphs in the country. I love everything classic and treat it better than any other classic car owner. This car has been my daily driver and not once has it let me down. I enjoy driving old cars daily for the simple fact that this car, ike any other vehicle on the road, as purchased new and driven off the lot as a means of transportation. 45 years later it is still loved and enjoyed as a means of transportation, nd most likely in better mechanical shape than it left the factory. It runs with no issues, ven in the rain! It starts immediately even in temperatures below freezing. It doesn't overheat in stop and go traffic. My mechanical experience is to thank for keeping this beautiful British sports car on the road and loved. It pains me to sell it, ut I have some other projects that need my attention. I will try to describe all that I have done to the car, ut will most likely forget a few items. I will also include my phone number, o that I can speak to someone in person and fully describe what a lovely car it is. 610-368-3358 - Tom. I am available to help assist in delivery and through my work, ave the option to load the car on a truck and have it shipped to your door. I will now do my best to describe what I have done. Any fairly intelligent individual will know the cost of the following maintenance items. Luckily for me I work on old air-cooled 911's and other vintage race cars so while my labor is technically free, igure on the fact that I have about 500 hours into the car and wouldn't hesitate to drive it across the country for delivery. My reserve is set lower than the cost of parts installed, s a frame of reference. That is how well sorted this car now is... Drivetrain170-180 psi of compression across all 6 cylinders.Zenith Strombergs rebuilt and synced/adjusted properly.New cap, otor, lugs, ires, oints, ondenser, attery, hermostat, oil, uel pump, ir filters.Set the ignition timing properly.Fresh fluid change, ncluding the oil filter.Changed the transmission and differential fluid.New clutch, ressure plate, hrow out bearing, nd flywheel.Engine and transmission mounts. New radiator and hoses.Replace fuel and heater hoses.Rebuilt transmission shifter tower and linkage.New trans tunnel cover for better insulation.Replace fuel tank filler hose.Valve cover gasket.Header and full exhaust - sounds INCREDIBLE! BrakesNew rotors, alipers, ads, nd brake lines on all four corners.New brake master cylinder.New brake light switch.New wheel cylinders and wheel adjusters. SuspensionFour new KYB shocks.Rear suspension bushing rebuild with poly bushings for a better ride.4 new tires with period correct Wolfrace Slot Mag wheels. ElectricalIt all works, mean everything. Heat, efrost, adio, VERYTHING! I cleaned up the wiring harness and addressed anything that would prevent me from making it to work early, ain or shine. BodyUnusually straight and presents well with a thorough cleaning. As expected, t has a few chips and blemishes. Chrome is all intact and straight. New hatch weatherstripping so the vehicle is watertight. It is what I would consider to be a damn nice driver. It draws a crowd wherever I go and sounds incredible while doing it. It's an absolute pleasure to drive, hether enjoying back roads or a quick sprint down the highway to town. It hasn't let me down and won't let down its next owner either. It's a chance for someone to own a baby E-type without the fear of damaging such an expensive vehicle. At this point I give up on describing the car. Feel free to give me a call with questions. I could be open to trades for other classic cars, diesel truck, ace boats, ou name it. Ultimately, ash is king at this point in my life. My -1 feedback score is due to a dispute on an item that I purchased years ago on this account and I use another eBay account for all of my business purchases. I didn't realize which account I was logged into until I hit "post" and saw it. Again, y phone number is listed and the car is available to be seen in person from an honest guy. Happy bidding! 610 368 3358 - Tom |
