This car had a frame off rebuild in 2010, rame and body were stripped to bare metal, ew steel and sheet metal were welded in where needed. Roll bar hoop and support tubes installed. Body was primed with 2-part epoxy primer and repainted. Inteletronix digital gauges have replaced all stock Smiths oil, uel, ater speedometer and tachometer gauges. Air/fFuel ratio gauge installed in center console, long with custom choke lever and horn button. Rear valence has been modified and now houses glass turn, everse and stop/tail lenses instead of the stock plastic lenses. Front grill is custom stainless steel mesh, ED front turn signals. Drive shaft has been professionally shortened and balanced for Mercury Merkur Heavy Duty 5-speed gearbox. New Falken Sincera tires mounted two months ago. Wheels are Carol Shelby Viper wheels. All new suspension bushings and hardware installed, long with non-adjustable spax front and GAZ adjustable rear shocks. Uprated lower front springs. New rotoflex couplings installed with the rebuild. The car currently has 6300 miles on it since engine rebuild when new small end conrod bushings were replaced and pistons were balanced. Details on upgrades to engine: Dual SU HS6 carburetors have replaced the 150 Stromberg stock carbs Intake has been ported to match new larger carbs GM 55 amp alternator replaces the lower amp Lucas stock alternator MOCAL oil cooler and thermostat Petronix ignition module installed in stock Delco distributor Flamethrower 12V coil Oversized 3-core aluminum radiator replaces the stock GT6 radiator Custom exhaust with header and twin Magnaflow mufflers The car has been a daily driver for me for the last two years. She easily cruises at highway speeds between 60 and 75 mph with no trouble or vibration. I love this car, ut need to move on to other projects. |
