European Motor Studio is very proud to offer this very rare completely original and untouched single owner 1973 Triumph Stag Roadster. This is a very rare find that has covered only 39,800 original miles from new and is fresh out of a single enthusiast ownership. After leaving the Triumph assembly line in Coventry England in July of 1973, Stag LE24164U is a US specification Stag sold new to its single owner by Triumph Motor CO. LTD on August 24, 1973 to a US Sergeant in the Army stationed in Europe until the car was then exported to the US sometime in 1975. According to the documentation the car appears to have resided in CO ever since being brought into the US. The Stag has remained in its original untouched, beautifully patina’d condition by its single enthusiast owner since new and aside from some small stone chips on the front nose underneath the grille and headlights and some small chips in door edges, the nicely aged original paint shows very well and has a very honest feel and look. The body is very straight and free from any damage or rust. All of the panel gaps are excellent and original from the factory. All of the chrome and trim are original and aside from some cracking rubber around the windshield, everything shows incredibly well. All of the original glass is in excellent condition and the original Overseas Visitor sticker is still present on the passenger side. The beautiful original interior shows outstanding. The original wood looks almost new with one small hairline crack in the lower veneer by the shifter. The original dash has no cracking of any kind or any shrinkage or damage, the center console and door panels are all in excellent condition and show almost no signs of age or wear. The original convertible top is still intact on the car and does have a small tear on the driver side and has shrunk a bit. The hardtop is in excellent condition with original paint and fits without any issues. The 3.0 liter V8 engine is a matching numbers engine and starts up with the choke and once warmed up settles into a nice smooth idle and a surprisingly deep throaty note from the exhaust. The engine is very smooth and accelerates freely and through all 4 gears with ease and is completely smoke free. The clutch is smooth and the gearbox is free from any grinding. The suspension is very smooth and free from any noises or rattles. The steering is nice and tight and free from any issues or loose play. The brakes are excellent and free from any fade or squeaking. All of electronics are operating as designed including the door buzzer, the instrument cluster with all of the warning lights, all of the gauges are reading correctly and the interior lights are all functioning as designed and with their appropriate switches. The glove box light is functioning and even the trunk curtesy light comes on. All of the exterior lights are operating as designed. The Stag is accompanied with its original British Leyland service booklet stamped and signed with all of the early services, the Passport to Service booklet with all of the original pre-delivery info, the Stag owners handbook, Triumph dealer directory, the original Vehicle Acceptance Receipt from Triumph Motors, the original sales brochure, the original radio manual, tool kit, original jack, spare tire and the original black plastic British Leyland ignition key, gas and door keys and the original radio still intact (does not work). This is truly a fabulous time capsule of a car that is rarely seen let alone in this kind of original condition. Fresh out of a single ownership since new, comes complete with all of its original books and factory equipment and is in beautiful running and driving condition.
