Description of 1964 Triumph Other |
Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this rare Right Hand Drive TR-4 convertible with several factory options. This car was recently purchased from it's longtime owner in Virginia who had plans to restore it but could never find the time. A transfer on the windshield shows that it could have possibly resided in Canada in the early 1970's. According to the car's data plate, this car left the factory in Olde English White with Black Trim in RHD form with a factory overdrive gearbox fitted. The car also has the desirable "Surrey Top" fitted with the folding softtop frame, 60-spoke painted wire wheels, and the rear seat option. This car is pretty complete with a closely sequenced engine number, highly likely to be the original one. This car would be a good candidate at this point for a full restoration. The body on this car is in average condition and was in process of having some sheetmetal repairs performed. A new driver's floorpan has been fitted with a new inner rocker. The LH inner rocker was removed but still needs to be installed. As a result, the door gaps still need to be set up properly upon final fitting and welding up. The trunk/boot floor looks pretty good. The car doesn't suffer from rust up high in the rear fenders, as most of these cars do. In general, the body needs a complete stripdown and restoration, but panels are fairly decent overall and usable. The car's interior is fairly original and needs complete restoration. It features the early Spa White painted dashboard facia that is signature feature to these early cars. All of the glass appears decent. The RH door glass is missing, along with the bottom seats squabs. The car's engine turns by hand and may run with some work. The engine bay is very original with it's correct and original VIN plate/body tag. The chassis on the car is good with only some minor repairs needed up front on the widening extensions under the A-arms. There are some pictures of included items that are original to the car. Overall, a very interesting, rare, highly-optioned, RHD home market car for restoration in original colors. Please look at all pictures and call or email with any questions. The description above is general in nature and not to be solely relied upon by buyer. Buyer to verify authenticity, matching numbers, condition, year, model, make, type, rarity or provenance and all other relevant information. This car is sold with a clear title and is available for inspection by appointment. This car is located in Southern California,35 minutes (30 miles)from the Los Angeles Port of Long Beach.
