This is a completely rust-free, all original, always garaged, weekend car, never driven in the rain. It's a great drive. This NUMBERS MATCHING TR6 could be easily upgraded to top show quality or used as is as a gorgeous daily driver. I’m selling my pet car, because two artificial knees, hip, and low functioning shoulders (likely more surgery to come) simply prevents me from using it. And, at 6’4”, my son can’t fit in it. I’ll tell you all I can, pro and con, and especially con, to give you the best idea of the car that I can. HISTORY AND DESCRIPTION: It was built in April 1975 and bought by me from a private collection where it was one of 12 cars, all driven weekly. It was there since the purchase from the original owner in approximately 1990. I bought it in 2002, went through it, and am the 3rd owner. It looks very nice and drives great. It is completely rust free; its floors are perfect. It has none of the areas of rust usually associated to these cars. It has always been garaged, driven responsibly, and well maintained. The paint job is still very respectable. There are a few nicks and minor chips in keeping with its age, the largest is about half the size of a dime. See pix. The exterior color was standard but an uncommon choice when new, but now, with the biscuit interior, it's a most desirable color option to collectors today. Oil pressure consistent at about 50 lbs. Wood dash in great condition. It even has the original yellow inner fender sticker with the circle cut outs. If it looks familiar, it's because you've restored a TR6 and purchased a replica of this original. The previous collector allowed it to be duplicated for those seeking 100% authenticity. The car has a clean title, the original tool bag and tools, and is now temporarily housed where a lift is available to aid inspection, which I encourage you (or your representative) to do. MUCH NEW HAS BEEN DONE IN THE LAST 1,000 MILES: New tires (balanced and road-forced), clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, full tune up, oil change and other fluids (200 miles ago, all synthetic oil throughout), New battery (2 weeks ago). Front and rear brakes and hoses, coil, speedometer cable, speedometer rebuilt, fuel pump, water pump, master cylinder, radiator hoses, tie rods, ball joints, alignment, valve and carburetor adjustment. I have $15,000.00+ invested in the car (not counting labor). Things that need attention, depending on your preference: Dashboard top needs replacement (new Moss Motors one included); exhaust pipe has six inch welded repair; seats could use new foam kit (driver’s side needs cover repair), interior rugs should be replaced (easily available from Moss Motors and other vendors); needs rubber accelerator pedal pad; carbs may need minor final adjustment; convertible top rear window just starting to cloud, but still easy to see through; slight pitting on driver’s side mirror’s chrome; a few paint chips on the body (largest one smaller than a dime) and a bit of “road rash” (tiny chips) on front of driver’s side wheel well. Has some seepage of oil, less than most old British cars. Needs the plastic return ring replaced on turn signal. Extra parts included are: “factory” manual, factory dash top, full compartment cover, convertible top stow cover, car cover. TR6’s are starting increasing in value. Get this one now before it’s out of reach. I can help arrange shipping or you can drive it home. Winner is required to pay a $1,000.00 deposit within 2 days of the end of the auction (paypal is fine for the deposit). Balance to be paid at pickup within 1 week in Bank/Cashiers Check, postal money order, or cash. Please see pictures taken on 6/10/17 ( the car looks better in person; also sorry for the blur) and email me (lofaro@utk.edu) with any questions.
