Description of 1962 Triumph TR3 |
Rare 1962 TR3B in excellent condition. This is an excellent rust free example of a rare TR3B. Previous owner had the car for 28 years and claimed to be the second owner. From the condition I can believe it. It's been sitting since 2003 having only 381 miles driven since last PA inspection, see inspection sticker photo. The pictures speak for themselves. Rust free floors as well as the rest of the body, trunk and a spotless spare tire compartment. Paint is shiny, shows well having some chips, there is one scratch on the drivers side that was touched up at some time. Chrome bumpers are excellent too. Engine compartment is clean as seen in photo. Tires and wheels are good. Car was recently serviced by reputable British Car Mechanic having the following done:drained gas tank, cleaned and replaced fuel line on tank, replace rear axle seals, replace brake master, rebuild clutch master, slave cylinder and replace hose, replaced rear brake wheel cylinders, new shoes and adjust linkage for park brake, replace rear brake flex hose, replace both front brake calipers and new front hoses, greased front end, change oil added zddp additive, filter, checked rear axle, trans oil and new coolant. This car runs as good as a Big Healey, holds great oil pressure and runs cool. Interior is original and in great shape with newer gray carpet. Seats and panels are excellent but passenger seat needs a seam repaired however no rips or tears anywhere. It has a great patina throughout. All gauges work as well as electrics. Convertible top is excellent as well as tonneau cover in white but needs cleaned. These TR3B's with TCF #'s were limited having a TR4 2138cc engine with 105 horses and a fully synchronized transmission. I have a clear title. This car runs great shifts and downshifts perfectly. These don't come along very often, so if you are looking for a TR3, this is a good one. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I will assist in shipping as long as all arrangements are made well in advance. I try to describe all my items the best I can so there are no surprises. I can be reached at 814-931-0627 with any questions. I have a 1962 MGA MKII listed in another auction if you are interested. The car is known for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
