Description of 1959 Triumph TR3 Stock or Original |
Up for auction is a nice driver quality 1959 Triumph TR3a with new engine and extras. 1959 Body: Both original metal horns work and are loud! All lamps look to be working. Gas gauge does not work. Wiper motor worked but got mis-wired due to the Haynes manual being out of date. An electrician should be able to solve it and I will include helpful info as to what happened. Temperature gauge works but is a different brand. Older upholstery in fair condition and a bit shabby in places but is serviceable. Weather gear has shrunk and should be replaced. Tonneau fits but zipper gone. Side windows need attention and mounting plates put back on. Needs dzus pieces. (please look at Pictures of parts to see side windows) Previous owner put in new rocker panels. No known rust.Paint is slightly mismatched in places, some minor body work has been done in years past. Paint is showing some age with nicks and scratches and one ding on front fender down low. (again please look at pictures) Newer hardura boot mat. Not a trailer queen but does looks pretty. Engine: Engine Transmission: Newer Tools: The classic Washington license plate on the car will stay with car if sold in the state of Washington, otherwise owner will keep plate. Current owner has had Triumphs since 1964. He has owned and enjoyed this car for ten years. He primarily was concerned with maintenance and drivability. Having a past farming history he always enjoyed working and tinkering and was a member of several British car clubs. In his 70’s now he says “time to let it go”. This car has much work done and undoubtedly there is more to be done. It’s a good project. I'm listing this little Triumph for a friend and will take all questions to him. The car starts easy, runs& drives very nicely andthe new clutch is smooth. The caris very solid and is a good driver quality, but he said it is sold as is.He has set a very resizable reserve to sale! Buyer is responsible for shipping and all shipping costs. We will help with loading on our end and in anyway we can, For your questions please call Bill (208)750-0000 On May-08-18 at 06:24:10 PDT, seller added the following information: The owner asked me to state that in the trunk of the car there was some surface rust under the trunk mat on the floor that the previous owner had cleaned up and painted over. It has a new mat and the floor is very solid. Again just surface pitting from the old mat. I have pictures if needed. Thank you everyone for your questions. And yesthe carruns very good. |
