Description of 1967 Triumph Herald

This is a 1965 Triumph Herald that I am listing for my parents. I am listing this as a 1965 but it is titled as a 1967 because it sat on the dealer's lot for 2 years before selling to the original owner. My parents purchased it as the second owner around 1975 and have owned it ever since. It was driven on warm days and weekends until approximately 1991 when it was parked due to a bad clutch slave cylinder. Since then it was driven one more time in 1996 when they changed homes but only to move from one barn to another. Since then it has deteriorated in an outbuilding at my parents home until reaching it's current condition shown by photos.
The Good:It ran when parked with the only things needing repaired being the glass in both side doors, a bad clutch slave cylinder and a few busted light lenses.This is a very rare left hand drive model. Right hand drive Heralds are very common in England and parts are readily available online. This is an 1147cc drivetrain which is shared with Spitfires from the same era. Those parts are also readily available. The wood dash is intact and just needs re-finished. This car is restorable and I have seen restored Heralds going for $10,000 or more online. These are becoming very rare with only a few US cars listed for sale every year.
The Bad:It was rolled once in the mid 70's and the top frame has been slightly bent ever since. Since then the top also deteriorated to the point that it has been removed. The frame was deteriorated to the point that new supports were welded in place some time in the late 80's or early 90's. When we moved the car from it's storage location, that additional support fell out and it appears the frame is in pretty rough shape. Besides being in two pieces at the rear of the passenger door, the frame members visible at the rear of the car are rusted most of the way through.Some sort of animal has nested in the trunk. We removed the worst of the debris but the damage remains.The original front seats were replaced sometime around 1977. The original seats are long gone and do not come with the car. All of the current interior upholstery has damage to the fabric and cushions from deterioration and animals burrowing.The pictures speak to the condition of the rest of the car but I am happy to respond to more specific questions regarding broken or missing parts, etc. if somebody is looking to use this as a parts car. Car is now tarped but sitting outside as the last picture shows. The buyer will need to pick up the car in the condition shown and if shipped, should notify shipper that car is on flat tires.
This will sell at no reserve to the highest bidder. Successful bidder must send a deposit by paypal within 48 hours of auction end and should make full payment within 7 days via paypal or cash. Car must be picked up within 2 weeks of auction end and payment must clear before car may be picked up. This car is sold as is where is with no warranties actual or implied.
