Description of 1969 Triumph GT6 1969 TRIUMPH GT-6 SPORTS COUPE. GOOD DRIVER. |
Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very attractive GT-6 Coupe in a superb factory color scheme fitted with a crisp, new, wire wheel set of 5. This car was just purchased from an older couple from Bakersfield, California who spent the last 5 years restoring this car and then adding it to their British car collection. They purchased this car in 2016 in Calimesa, California as a very complete and rustfree car that had been stored since 1988.As part of the car's recent restoration, it received nice but modest body and paintwork on what is believed to be a super nice, rustfree and accident-free bodyshell and bonnet. The car's glossy paintwork presents well. the car received a new body rubber/gasket kit. Brightwork is a mixture of new and mostly nice original pieces. The car received a completely new interior in quality black vinyl. This included reupholstered and repadded seats, panel kit, carpet kit, headliner, dashboard and top pad, door seals. A new Moto-lita style wood/alloy steering wheel finishes off the trim beautiful and feels very nice out on the road.Mechanically, the car feels very good going down the road with no issues. The original engine and transmission ran well, so they appear to have been detailed and resealed with the ancillaries renewed. There are plenty of receipts showing new brakes, seals, a front suspension rebuild, shocks, tires, custom exhaust system with headers, a new 3-piece clutch, rubber items, etc. The car starts easily on the key with no noises, good healthy oil pressure, no smoke, and strongly charges off down the road with plenty of power. The gearbox feels good, along with brakes suspension and clutch, and the car is an enjoyable drive.Overall, this desirable GT-6 MK2 with it's attractive early round taillights is a rare find in this fully restored condition. It sits handsomely on it's new wire wheel set, in it's correct Valencia Blue, and is surely one the best cars currently available on today's market. Please look at all pictures and call or email with any questions.
