Description of 1968 Triumph Spitfire MK3 |
Up for sale are a 1968 Triumph MK3 Spitfire rolling chassis and a damaged 1977 Triumph Spitfire. The '68 is a fantastic rust free! car!!! It has been garage kept its entire life. It was disassembled by the previous owner and stored in an airplane hanger for over 20 years. His health failed and he passed on. The car was sold in an estate sale. The chassis is free of rust or bondo. I sanded it down for inspection and preparing to restore myself. It will be a very easy project to complete. Take it home. roll the body into paint and transfer the parts from one car to the other! The gauges and emblems for deck lid are present. as are the rear lights. Windshield and frame are here. Convertible bows are present. Doors open and close. The 1977 was a show car. but unfortunately it was in a collision. It was in a low-speed accident where the car was stopped for a deer and a lifted 4x4 ran sideways over the front bumper and bonnet. The picture with the model was pre-accident! I included it so you would know the car and its parts were in great shape. The engine is a 1500cc and the transmission has overdrive. The '68 had only a 1300cc engine. This is a bolt in upgrade that nets you the extra power the original needed! Brakes. wiring harness. slave cylinder and black interior pieces necessary will all swap in and parts catalog shows them to be the same in almost every case. Dash is complete. As they are both made of wood. you can elect to add more gauges to the '68 if you elect to. Over 95% of all necessary parts present. You won't be sourcing any hard to find wingdings. Accident photos here: http://www. ridleysrides. com/77triumph. htmlI will offer this car as-is in December '14 only. Please don't delay. If it doesnt sell. it is going into paint and I will be transferring the parts over during my Christmas break and relisting a show quality $20. 00. 00 car next year! Attached is a time lapse video showing how quickly (48hours!) these popular cars can be done. http://www. youtube. com/watch?v=i5dlat2xE2UGreat money making potential for any shop and a great father/son or garage project for even a novice. • Category: Cabrio / Sport Cars • Engine: 1492 ccm (90. 8 cubic inches) • Engine position: Front • Engine type: in-line. 4-cyl • Valves per cylinder: • Maximum power: 57. 00 PS (41. 9 kW or 55. 2 HP) at 5000 Rev. per min. • Maximum torque: 100. 00 Nm (10. 5 kgf-m or 73. 3 ft. lbs) at 3000 Rev. per min. • Fuel type: Gasoline • Transmission type: 4 speed/ electric Overdrive• Power per weight: 0. 0699 PS/kg • 0 to 100km/h (0 to 62mph): • Drivetrain: Rear • Number of seats: 2 • Passenger space: 3050 litres (801. 7 gallons) • Number of doors: 2 • Country of origin: UK • Front tires: 155/80-R13 • Rear tires: 155/80-R13• Weight: 815 kg (1787. 2 pounds) • • Total length: 3790 mm (148. 5 inches) • Total width: 1450 mm (56. 1 inches) • Total height: 1210 mm (47. 6 inches) • Wheelbase: 2110 mm (82. 8 inches) • Cooling: Liquid• Brakes type (front): Disc• Brakes type (rear): DrumFuel tank capacity: 33. 0 litres (8. 8 gallons) |
