Description of 1974 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia |
This is a highly customized Karmann Ghia. It has been converted to a water cooled 12A Mazda Rotary engine that produces approximately 125 horse power. It runs fantastic and has been very reliable. The interior is all new, ll new rubber, on-smoker, ith Mercedes power leather seats, 960's Porsche 912 gauges, nd the entire interior steel underlay has been covered with fat mat sound deadening material. There are two distinct individual audio systems installed. The first is the stock, n dash AM radio, he second is an iPod/iPhone based system that uses a dock hidden in the ash tray that runs the amp and speakers in the back. The paint is good but not perfect, see photos) there are chips and dings as expected with a car that has been regularly driven, he door sills need some paint touch up. I will include approximately a quart of original paint that was left over. The engine uses a Racing Beat intake manifold, he carburetor is a holly 600 with modified vacuum porting to match the characteristics of the motor. The drive train uses a Kennedy adapter kit with a stage two clutch and heavy duty throw out kit. The exhaust is a modified Racing Beat manifold to a 2" Magnaflow same side muffler. The radiator is an aluminum Griffin designed to cool a chevy small block. Additionally, his engine is set up to run a pre-mix fuel system, eaning that 2 cycle oil needs to be added with every tank of gasoline at a ration of 100:1, hich is roughly 6 ounces per tank. I will include the original Mazda OMP pump to convert it back to an auto-oiler. The body has been extensively repaired, his car had nose damage, nd had the front section replaced with a strait section from a donor ghia, ence the 60's blinkers on a 1974. New floor pans have been welded in, here is no rust! If you have any questions feel free to contact me, built this car with passion over a period of 5 years. |
