Description of 1966 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

This Baja is a lot of fun, nd almost all parts are less than 2000 miles old. I built this from the pan-up, o most everything was replaced (brake parts, rake lines, uel lines, indow rubber, tc). Wipers, urn signals, eat belts, tc all work so this is street legal (no emergency flashers but turn signals work). I'd be happy to Facetime / Skype with any potential buyers so they could see the vehicle a bit more up close - just email me with a request and your contact info.
- 1966 pan, olid & rust free, lean and current title with up-to-date California registration
- 1969 body, ery straight, o major rust, as media blasted, rimered, and sprayed with OD green spray paint for easy touchup (looks good believe it or not)
- VW thing front end with newer high-quality German ball joints
- VW bus rear end with small-nut reduction gear boxes (superdiff, very low gearing, limbs extremely well) and J.J. Johnson No-Hop kit (incredibly rare). Transaxle was fully rebuilt during restoration
- 1600cc single port built by Art Thraen (one of the better VW engine builders out there), osch 019 distributor, ull-flow with oil filter thermostat, il cooler with fan (fan not yet hooked up)
- Bilstein shocks all around
- Yokohama Y742S front tires (700x15) mounted on BTR rims (aluminum, plasti-dipped black) with 95% tread. Also, xtra brand new Yokohama Y742s tire under hood for spare.
- BF Goodrich 31x15x10.5 rear tires (90-95% tread) with additional non-matching spare
- Corbeau Baja SS seats (black vinyl - some snags and minor tears where jean rivets hit when sitting down)
- Painless wiring harness (very clean) with custom wiring cover to keep dirt/water out
- All new VDO gauges
- Custom back platform for gear boxes / storage
- Cobra CB Radio
- 6 point roll cage (for recreational use, ot racing)
- Custom front bumper with two HID lights
- One piece front end with dzus fasteners
- Mark V hi-mount fiberglass rear fenders
- Yakima roof bars for rack, ayaks, tc (basket and hi-lift in some photos are NOT included)
- Front and rear skid plates
- Optima red top battery
- Tow bar, mergency spare parts, owing electrical cable
Minor issues and other items of note:
- Oil cooler fan is not hooked up to electrical yet; works to cool oil fine without
- Small, ery slow drips here and there from reduction boxes and engine. I believe the valve covers are the source on the engine and cork just need to be replaced or sealed up.
- After some long drives, some oil seems to spatter out of oil breather (a fine mist and not excessive amounts). I think with the full-flow system there may be higher pressure which is causing this. I haven't tried adding an oil breather yet.
- E-brake cables need adjusting to hold properly
- Speedometer needle broken (top speed is 55mph or so; you don't have to worry about speeding too much)
- Front clip was cut off to make baja style. Stock gas tank is bolted to custom angle iron bracket/support. Never had any issues.
- Due to the low gearing, op speed is around 55mph. This thing climbs hills like crazy though!
- Driver's side door shuts great, assenger requires a bit of effort but still closes fine.
- Car is a bit dusty from offroad trails
