Description of 1974 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Karmann Ghia

Up for auction is a beautiful 1974 Super Beetle Karmann Ghia convertible. What makes this Beetle so unique is its history. This wasn't just another Beetle that was patched together during its restoration because of a leaky battery or rusted panels. This Bug came from California where the floors are original and rot free. The title even shows that the previous state of ownership was California. So to break it down, omeone decided to restore a completely solid VW Beetle rather than patching one together. These cars are becoming harder to find and more valuable especially one in this condition and convertible.

I encourage everyone to read through the entire ad even though its lengthy. I want you as the buyer to know exactly what you are getting. There won't be anything hidden so i'm here to reveal the flaws and the lengthy list of wonderful things this bug has to offer. I've included 24 pictures to help tell the story, ue to eBay restricting me from adding more than 24 pictures I've included a link to a photobucket which has an additional 32 pictures of the car. Click here to be directed to my photobucket with the additional 32 pictures of my VW.I have also included a way to watch a video of my VW on you tube. You will need to go to you tube and search " 1974 Restored VW Super Beetle Karmann For Sale." I have included an in depth video of the interior and exterior and the engine running. (This is a 8 minute video) In the video I grabbed the exhaust manifolds to show that the engine is being started on a cold start.

Anyways, ore about this one of a kind bug. Lets start with the basics... Original floors and panels (no fiberglass panels that don't fit right), riginal German made seat belts, rack free dash, ll lights works, ll gauges work, an blows as it should, ew speakers, tereo works, ransmission shifts smooth, lutch works properly, oesn't leak any fluid, eat sliders, rand new tires, riginal nice rims, nbsp;rip and tear free seats, ery nice carpet and floor mats, riginal steering wheel, ew carpet in the trunk, ll the seals are good around the windshield frame and windows, pare tire, ll wiring is clean and ran the proper way rather than done by an amateur, olid frame rails, nd so much more which can be seen from the pictures.

Little more about the history of this restoration. I have documented pictures of the restoration which was done back in 1999/2000. Yes, hat was 15 years ago but when it is done right and properly stored it looks like what it does in the pictures. The pictures show a detailed process of the restoration. Clearly no expenses were spared during the process. The mileage on the odometer shows 20,663 which is almost impossible to tell if it is actual or not. However, ou can tell from looking at the VW that its very likely that its original miles.

The top is in excellent condition with no rips or tears. This is a original replacement top not a cheap $125 top. This has the insulation in between that is clean and intact and has a headliner. Most replacement tops are just the top alone. This is just an example of how they didn't do a cheap a job with the restoration. The engine is a 1600 cc original engine with a really nice exhaust system. Exhaust system was replaced last year and is honestly the best sounding beetle i've ever heard. Has VW exhaust manifolds which is shown in the pictures. The trunk and hood was lined with a very nice rhino liner type of material. It meshes very well with the paint and looks really professional.

Of course there is its imperfections as it was restored 15 years ago. There is a minor wobble when driving down the road at 35 mph which i'm sure is due to sitting in a garage for so long. It doesn't wobble at higher speeds and honestly isn't that bad (i'm being very picky). There is some paint chipping in places such as on the hood, ight above the exhaust pipes, nd some paint lifting near the hinges. (I do have the paint code from the restoration so you can touch it up in places). Basically the only flaws in this vehicle is the small wobble and the imperfections in the paint here and there. This is a beautiful paint job with a nice shine but you can see it has some age.Again i'm here to describe this vehicle the best I can. I encourage all phone calls and even encourage anyone to come test drive the vehicle. I have nothing to hide as this is a gem of a bug. My phone number is listed in the ad so you can contact me directly.

I could go on forever about this beetle about how cool it is, ut i'm going to encourage phone calls or questions via messages.

Title is clear, nd ready to go. I'm starting the auction low NO RESERVE so best of luck bidding! The car is not for sale locally so this auction will run all the way to the end.

Here is another IMPORTANT update to the auction. Due to many of you concerned about the "Super Beetle Shimmy" or "Death Wobble" with my VW I've decided to dig in deeper to the subject. I know the problem was very minor and not part of the steering because I know how well this build was done. I jacked up the beetle and checked all of the bushing, ie rod ends, nd joints. Everything was very tight. I feel very foolish for not looking into this earlier but the wheel itself was loose because the end nut to hold the bearings in was just a little loose. I tightened everything up and added more wheel bearing grease. Drove it down the road and the wobble is gone.
Again, LEASE DISREGARD THE WOBBLE ISSUE WRITTEN ABOVE IN MY AD AS IT HAS BEEN FIXED (AS OF TODAY 7/9/2015) AND DRIVES STRAIGHT, MOOTH, ND AS IT SHOULD NOW!
Please call with questions!
