Offered for auction today is my 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible. Right now is the perfect time to buy a Beetle convertible asthese cars are still very affordable. With VW now the top selling car in the United Statestheseclassic Bugs are bound to go up in value making this one a solid investment. The VW Beetle is one of the easiest cars to own. Easy to repair (when they need it),Cheep on gas and just a lot of fun to drive around in. This is a Sunny South Florida car all of its life never subject to harsh winters like so many of the other ones making this one the one to buy. This 1974 VW Super Beetle convertiblefinished in Rally Yellow paint with a Black Cloth interior and Black Hartz Cloth convertible top. 4 cylinder 1641cc engine with manual 4 speed transmission. This car was subject to a complete mechanical and cosmetic restoration about 10 years ago for my neighbor who owned it 15 years prior to me. The car now has about 64000 original miles on it and runs and drives very nicely with no issues. The engine stars easily and idles well. The clutch operates properly and the transmission shifts smoothly andeffortlessly through all the gears. The car has like new radial tires with little or no wear on them. On the road this car handles tightly and rides smoothly with no funnysqueaks, attles or clunks. The doors open and close tightly with proper gaps. The like new Hartz cloth convertible top looks new and works properly. At the time of the restoration new cloth upholstery was fitted over the original vinyl weave seat covers for more comfort in the hot Florida summers. The trunk is nicely detailed and looks like it did from the factory. A new carpet set was fitted at the time of the restoration and still looks new. The odometer was replaced recently due to a "fogged" lens and now shows around 200 and some miles. The original speedometer/odometer will be included with the car as proof of the miles. The paint is very high quality paint job but does have a few very small imperfections here and there due to age but you have to look close to see them. All the factory seat belts are in the car and work. The radio was replaced with a Blaupunkt unit but was never hooked up. That will be up to the new owner. According to my research 1974 marked the last year of production at the Wolfsburg Germany plant and only 5730 convertibles were sold in the USA for 1974. Not many Rally Yellow convertibles exist today making this somewhat of a rare car and certain to go up in value. NADA Old Car price guide lists this car for an average price of $12050 and a high price of $22500. The reserve is set at a fraction of those numbers so please bid what you are willing to pay as the auction rules. The car is located at my garage in Hollywood Florida about 10 minutes south of the Hollywood Fort Lauderdale International Air Port. The car is available for inspection anytime. Please ask all questions and perform all inspections prior to bidding if required. I can be reached any time. My cell phone number is 773 551 5075.
