Description of 1982 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon |
Up for sale is one of the finest aircooled AdventureWagon available. The rust free bus was just beautifully repainted, nd features a freshly rebuilt Type 4 motor with less than 1000 miles on the professional rebuild. The interior is comfortable and clean with re-upholstered seat covers and new curtains throughout. There is a brand new Pioneer head unit and four new speakers. The unit has a USB input, lueTooth, D player and an Aux input. Both the starting and coach batteries are brand new, nd can be recharged while camping using our solar charging system that will keep the music playing and fridge cold. Please note that there was a title issue for this van many years ago. A previous owner took aninsuranceclaim against the van when the engine blew and the repair costsexceedthe total value. This resulted in a "rebuilt" title, althoughit is very clear that this bus has not been in any majoraccidents. Please watch the youtube tour of the bus here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fisrNEP3Bkg&feature=youtu.be For full album of pictures: http://imgur.com/a/X8apu I have owned this bus for just over a year, nd purchased it when the previous engine seized due to lack of oil. Since it was a RUST FREE rare AdventureWagon I decided to purchase it. I had a type 4 engine built by AVP Motorworks in California, nd then installed by a reputable VW only mechanic here in Richmond VA. The paint was good but faded, o we had it professionally painted and it looks beautiful. No MAACO crap paint job here. The interior was in decent condition, ut the seats showed their age with stains and small tears. SewFine created custom seat covers for us that are comfortable, asy to clean, nd look like new. For the rear mattress, e had a custom mattress made that features Velcro on the ends of the two halves so the mattress comes together wonderfully. The upper bed was in great shape, o we simply heat steam cleaned the mattress to provide a sanitary and clean sleeping surface. The original curtains were in good shape, ut very dated. We had custom curtains made for every window, ncluding the upper section, kylight, nd entire front window section. We used ‘blackout' backing, o very little light gets through when the curtains are closed. The original curtains are still available and are included in the sale. To help keep the coach battery fully charged while camping, here is a solar charging system with 3 solar panels. When camping you can move the panels to wherever the sun is. There is monitoring station that allows you to check the voltage and charging conditions of the system. This system is great since the refrigerator can run off of 12v DC power when the shore power is not plugged in. Features of this bus: New Engine New Paint New Stereo New Upholstery New Batteries (Starting and Coach) Solar Charging system Full time hightop with over 6' of standing room Upper twin bed Lower bed that folds from seats 2 burner stove with heat shield Propane furnace with adjustable thermostat (VERY warm) Water tank and sink with electric pump Dirty water holding tank Tons of storage (more than Westfalia due to upper storage) 2 way fridge that runs off shore power or 12v Free floating carpet that cover original vinyl floor Grills for the headlights (not installed due to state regulations) Tons of lighting with multiple new lighting fixtures Multiple 12v charging sockets 120amp receptacles (2) for using with shore power New wiper blades Full size spare Jack and tools Lots more that I am forgetting!! Both cosmetically and mechanically this bus has been completely gone over. I take it camping all over the state often and have no problems. This bus is ready to get in and drive anywhere. It is also listed for sale locally, o this ad may be removed anytime. Please call me or email me to schedule a test drive. Thank you, Charley (cgates@firstam.com) or 8zero4-971-five598 |
