1973 Volkswagen Classic Super Beetle Sports Bug Saturn Yellow Red & Black Stripe

This is a beautiful 1973 special edition Volkswagen Saturn Yellow Super Beetle called the Sports Bug. It features Recaro sport bucket seats(original), hort-throw synchro stick shift(the faster you shift, he faster it shifts), thicker simulated leather wrapped 3 spoke steering wheel(original), ag-type wheels(original), ider steer wheels forwider tires and matte black exterior trim. The distinctive red & black waist stripes were optional.20,000 of these Beetles weresold in North America in 1973, ffered for one year only.

This Volkswagen Beetle is in good condition but has some rust bubbles & exposed rust, t has been repainted(around 1984), here is some damage to seats(burn hole in rear seat), dometer says 30,030 but actually has 130,030, roken stud on right side of engine where muffler attaches, oor heat & windshield defrost, oor condition running boards, oorly applied stripe, assenger door doesn't open from outside, mall dent in metal surrounding headlight, tc. These are the items that we are aware of. It may need additional work. I don't know what changes were made to it prior to my purchase. It hasnot been reconditioned.

This Beetle has a Pennsylvania Classic Plate, 39255. It passed Pennsylvania yearly inspection on 5/19/2015. Tires passed tread wear test but are older. After inspection took it to a Volkswagen specialist(Baum's ServiceCenter in NewCumberland, A)for a safety check on 9/8/2015. He replaced the valve cover & gasket, oth tie rod ends(repair to steering)andboth rear brake hoses(repair brake lock up). It comes with a gray fabric fitted cover that is in very good condition.

This Beetle was purchased used in 1978. It was my first car purchase, urchased upon graduation from college. It was driven for a few years, ntil I purchased a new 1980 Honda Prelude. The car was semi-retired, sed sparingly some summers and mostly stored in my Mom's garage since then.
