Description of 1978 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon |
You are bidding on a 1978 VW Westfalia Camper. Frame is straight and with very little rust. Camper has been in my family since purchased new, nd has had no accidents. Rust in typical spots - under front windshield, round engine door in back, bit in drip rail below camper top. Camper has electrical connection point, able with arm, ridge, ll cabinets, oth upper and lower mattresses, alousie windows, .0Lengine, uelinjection (with an extra fuel injector for cold start), speed highway transmission. Interior roof has somemildew spots. Pop top has original tent which had some small rips last time I opened it, ut I haven't opened it lately and am not aware of status. Lower blower unit has been removed from dash. Entire AC system and BA6 heater have been removed and I do not have them. Camper includes many spare parts (see pic), ncluding new bumper, ight covers, uses, askets, riginal pushrod tubes, ngine stand, tc. I don't remember what all is in there, ut it's a box-o-parts that will be included. Camper was driven in Houston Art Car Parades 2000-2006. Camper is not currently running. Engine was completely rebuilt in summer 2005 and then camper was driven every week or so until Jan 2007. I estimate 2000-3000 miles on the rebuild. In Jan 2007, amper was driven from Houston to Canyon Lake, exas (195 miles) at 70 mph with no issues. It was driventhereto be stored when I moved out of the country. The Camper and I have now both moved back to Houston, ut my house remodel project needs funds which means I must sell the Camper. Sometime during the years it's been parked (covered by tarp for most of the storage time), he sliding door has become stuck closed. It feels like the lock button won't slide to disengage the lock, ut I haven't dug into it to try to get it to work. It worked fine when the Camper was parked for storage in 2007.
