Description of 1973 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon |
This is a 1973 vw bus. No rust, traight, nd ready for the road. Partially restored (not professionally). I purchased this bus about 2 years ago and it was in amazing shape mechanically and the body was tip top. The interior had missing pieces and was in need of a little love. I gutted it, leaned it, nsulated it, uilt bamboo hardwood cabinets(not pro - I am not a builder), ew hardwood floors, ew vinyl door panels from Jbugs, ew upholstery and foam cushions - done professionally by a local furniture maker in Portland, R (I have and will include the roll of green vinyl if you wish to replace the front seats to match, paint job is new but not a pro job - $4000 job - nice but not a $10,000 job of course. New fuel line, ew brakebooster and hoses, ransmission service and solenoids adjusted - shifting great and riding smooth (tiny reverse clunk) - engine serviced, il changed - I drive this bus everyday and over the summer went from Portland, R to San Fran to Quincy, A back to San Fran to Portland, R, o Coeur d' alene, D to Seattle to Portland, R - trekked about 2000 mile without problems The riviera Pop top is in fantastic shape - a couple tears in the screen mesh but the canvas is clean and solid and the metal hinges are in great working order. The interior is almost there but will need a new auxiliary battery for interior electrical setup if desired, o sink faucet, o water tank, ink needs install, eadliner needs install (havent done this because i was planning on building a speaker box and storage above bed first (never got to it), liding door could use new rubber liner. |
