Description of 1983 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Westfalia 2wd Full camper |
Let start at this: Forced to sell this amazing van due to leaving the county and have no time to finish it a proper way. Spend a lot of time and recourses on this westy, oo bad I’m running out of time and money…. my loss your gain…. So here we go: 1983 VW Vanagon Wesfalia with original 79.917 Miles. Few month ago I decided to fully restore it and swap the motor to Subaru 2.2L. Striped the body, ulled the motor/tranny, ulled the glass out, asically gut it out to the bones. Fully restored it at a reputable body shop, omplete pain job was done, sed only high-end materials. Upgraded front and rear black metal bumpers, ll new seals around pop top. Now the body is spotless from top to the bottom, o rust underneath. Undercoated in common rusty spots under the van and engine bay. Cleaned and painted in black fuel tank ready to be installed. Interior: Just picked up high-end upholstery front seats, ustom work for this van. Upholstery guy used high quality material, e-upholstered cushions, prings- super comfortable. Seats build to handle long road trips. The back folding bench is in great shape despise the age. I have another piece that that goes on atop of the engine bay cover (not shown in a picture). The carpet is excellent condition all around (79k hwy miles on a van) Kitchen: Kitchen looks like new, abinets open and close fine, mean its 1983 but it looks well preserved and barely used. I dint test the fridge and appliance recently, ut it worked good back in a days. Suspension: Van has 2” lift and upgraded aftermarket shocks 8K miles ago. Mercedes R15 gowesty rims with brand new tires (Nokian Hakkapeliita 205 60 R15 made in Finland) Also have a spare matching rim and tire. Original wheels and tires comes with a van. Sterling feels tight, an drove like new before I pulled the motor for conversion. Engine/transmission: We pulled the original air-cooled engine with a transmission at 79.917 miles with intention to convert it to Subaru 2.2. I have transmission comes with van, hifts great with no issues. The air-cooled engine I used for another project. (Original engine doesn’t come with a van) Now I have fully built 1996 2.2L Subaru engine (AJ22) that comes with a van. ONLY OEM parts used to rebuild the motor, ork preformed by Subaru professional mechanic. I brought a used running 96 Subaru legacy with 170k miles, drove the subi a week before:)) pulled the motor, omplete wiring harness with ECU, peed sensor, tarter, /C compressor, adiator, ll A/C houses and all that stuff for conversion. All is left to do: Install the engine/finish Subaru conversion and you will have one of a kind, ell built Westfalia Camper. The sad part: Running out if time to finish the installation of the engine. I build a 35.000$ westy, ot a lot left to finish for it to be perfect and running on a road again for thousands and thousands miles. Disclaimer: The van is not running at a moment, t needs to be "finished" please read the decription:) VAN SOLD AS IS WHERE IS! If you want to see it or have any question don’t hesitate and Text or call me @3607870620 P.S I can give you reference to reputable mechanic that can do the work for around 4500$. If I don’t sell the van I probably will do that and will be selling it over 30k For reference go to Gowesty web page find vehicle sold list.
