Description of 1954 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic bug

Here is your chance to own a awesome, insane, incredible phenominal piece of histor, by ferninane porche,

This rare 1954 oval window Volkswagen Beetle, and the reason I say rare, Is because This iconic Volkswagen is all original, meaning that every fende, every part on this car is original, 1954 Volkswagen bug, This car sat for 25 years with out seeing day light, it was covered and in a shed all those years, two owners before I bought it several years ago, When I gotthe car it had frozen brakes and the gas tank had soiled fuel in it, So I had to remove and replace everypart of the brake system, The only item we kept was the brake fluidresivoui, I also was able to save the original gas tank,

As far as the interior, everything is the original, all the way down to the moll hair head liner,(between you and me) I didn't know molls had hair lol, It has the original steering wheel, in which last show I took it to, was offeredover $600 for it, and when was the last time you ever saw the original sun visor, Well this 54 has it, and you can look through it into the sun, and see the sun, There is so many cool original items in the interior, that came with the car when it rolled off the assembly line, 63 years ago, I really didn't want to alter this bug at all, but because the car is 63 years old, I went ahead and spent over $4000. on the paint, it had two small area's where surfice rust had to be delt with, The body was so clean and dimple free, that I didn't have to prep the body to paint it, The original color on this car was called Indian red, and that's the color we used,We put two coats of paint on it, wet sanded it with 2000 grit sand paper, before shooting it with 3 coats of clear, The paint came out so good, that you can shave in the reflection, I also used the original body trim, and emblems, and to top it of, I purchased a roof rack that was identicle to the original cherry wood roof rac, that would of came with i, during that time period,

We converted it to a 12 volt, and kept every part to the 6 volt system, including the original engine and transaxle, in which the vin numbers match the bod, that in itself make the value of this car worth $30,000 and since I wanted to use it as a daily driver, by changing it to a 12 volt, I pulled the engine and trans boxed it up, and put a 1969 dual port engine and a 1969 swing axl, so this ride can be showd with out taking any chances on damaging the original eng, and trans,

So if you plan on perfecting this iconic oval, and making it a show car, putting the original eng/trans back in it, might take a hole evenin, That's what made these old Volkswagens so damn cool,

now I have restored over 30 vintage bugs and busses, I have had every year oval, 54,55,56,57, also have owned a 53 split window, and have restored so many busses that one of them made on TV on a prudential life insurance commercial, So do I know Volks wagens, Id say yes, My main income is making handshaped surf boards, I am the owner of Wave Weapon surfboards international . have just about 40,000 handshaped surf boards to my credit.

This bug has had a set of aloha surf racks on it for the past 3 1/2 years on it, and has transported at least 1000 boards, So this cool old bug has some history to it, and is well known in the surfing world as Lou dog's old 5, I hope that who ever is the lucky one who gets this ride will take real good care of it,

and please note, that I am putting this car in numerous types of advertisements, and the person who has the highest bid after the 7 day auction drives away with her... if your very serious and understand that the value of a car like this will only double in the next 10 years, the making a respectable offer on be half of this car will not only take it away, but lets face it, cars like this are so rare that its real value is in the eye of the beholder. Ive seen cars less then this sell for over$20,000 with out two engines and a super sweet paint job, and the fact that driving this car is more the a head turner, its a way of life. ive turned down a offer of $14,000 if your serious then an offer of 20 k will probably get you the car. with out having to haggle over the price. ps yes it has the semifores turn signals, sincerely Lou Dog 760-809-6180 and yes we will ship any where at your cost...
