Description of 1963 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic bug

As much as I hate to, I have decided to sale my 1963 custom VW Beetle. Lots of time and money put into this car, lots of fun rides, get attention everywhere it goes, no matter what time of day. Car has lots of character and gets "thumbs up" approval while parked and while on the road. If you like attention, this things for you. Has an upgraded 1600cc motor, 60HP (hey its better than the stock 36HP), 4 speed manual and will hit 65 / 70 mph on the highway but then she starts getting a little loose, lots of front end work done to the vehicle (see pictures). It is a four speed, many mistake it for a Harley when they hear it coming, love the darn thing, just ready to let it go.

Email with questions but photos speak for themselves. Car is not cosmetically perfect, never intended for it to be, interior is nice, just about everything works except for the horn (never been able to figure out that amazing piece of engineering)... What you see is what you get and just to be clear so no surprises, no fenders, no running boards, no wipers, no turn signals, no seatbelts, no sun visors, no cruise control, no power doors, no power windows and no problem! Smaller tires in the front, larger tires in the rear...

Air cooled technology and for those of you who know how easy it is to tinker with these cars, you know you can just about order any part online and fix it yourself. Anyone is welcome to come by and see it, you can drive it home but that is your call depending on where you live - I do have a tow bar that will go as part of the sale so as long as you have a tow hitch (will need to confirm tow ball diameter) you could just tow it home as I have done many times when headed to car shows with it.

California Rat Rod look... If you like attention, this will do it even when parked next to vehicles worth 10x more... everyone has those yet you won't find too many beetles with this setup... Car is NOT chopped, car is NOT bagged - last photo just shows a quickly marked up photo of some of my earlier plans but just never got around to it - would also consider trades if you have something I might be interested in - I need a new project. I live very close to Interstate 270 between Washington DC and Frederick Maryland. I will gladly assist anyone with shipping arrangements if you wish to have the vehicle picked up by a third party. Buyer is however responsible for all charges and arrangements, just ask that I be made aware of said plans ahead of time so I can be there and assist when needed. If you send me your email I can share some videos if you wish.

Car is for sale locally as well as on Samba.com and I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally instead. Rear lid is currently off the vehicle for a rattier look but will be included with the sale of the vehicle as some might prefer to have it installed. Tow bar is also included as part of the sale if you plan on picking it up locally otherwise if shipping I cannot include it due to its massive size (I will not be able to place it inside of the vehicle, just too big). Local sale and pick up would be preferred but will consider assisting with shipping nationally (all fees / charges / pick-up arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer - I will simply assist as best I can).

Any questions, email me and I will try to answer.
