Up for auction is this awesome looking 1961 VW convertible. This is a really clean little car that runs great and looks good to! The car is all steel but three of the fenders are aftermarket, the passenger side rear is the original fender. The paint on the car is a very good driver quality with a few chips and scratches and a dent in the driver side front fender that is being fixed right now as you will see in the second to last picture. I took the glove box door off to have the paint matched for the fender and a small cracked area on the hood. The glove box door will be put back on before the car sells. The convertible top works well and was recently replaced and looks great. The previous owner put some screws in the top in the rear section as you will see in the last picture. This area should have clips not screws. The motor is a 1776 that was rebuilt by the previous owner and it runs great. The motor just had a recent tune up with a new carburetor and plugs. The air filter will be on the car when picked up, it's off in the picture. The interior is very clean and shows very well. There are a few things on the car that need to be fixed, the camber on the driver side rear is off by one notch compared to the passenger side, there is a screw in the emblem on the top of the hood and the headlight covers don't match. One of the covers is VW and has a chip in it and the one is a HELLA brand replacement cover. There is also a spot in the pan where the battery acid ate the floor out and a plate was just put over the hole, you can see it in the underside picture, other than that spot the pan is in great shape. Overall this is a really nice classic bug that can be driven daily and taken to local car shows and have some fun with it! I'm selling this car for a friend of mine so the title is in his name and it's clean and ready to go. This is an awesome 61 vert so BID TO WIN!! This car will be sold as is where is with no warranty implied.
