Description of 1973 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic |
1973 VW Super beetle Dark red with off white interior 4 speed manual transmission Several hundred dollars in new parts, including: NEW Battery Four NEW tires (just had them put on so brand new) NEW Gas Tank NEW Fuel sending Unit NEW Carburetor Almost completely new brake system including rebuilt master cylinder, new rubber lines, new wheel cylinders and brake kits (springs and adjustment screws), and new brake shoes on all four drums. Also has new: - Distributor cap and rotor - Spark Plugs - Spark plug wires - Fuel pump and in-line filter - Many new body seals, all four fender beads, taillight seals, turn signal to body seals, trunk seal, engine bay seal (engine bay seal not installed but included) - Running boards - Dash cover - Front turn signal lenses The car starts right up, runs fine and drives. The body is in pretty good shape; the paint shines well and is good for a driver. That said there are a few imperfections (some small dents here or there and some small scratches or drips / imperfections in paint) but overall looks good. The interior is also in decent shape, I don’t think there are any rips in the seats but they show their age a little, carpet is in pretty nice shape also. Dash has a molded cover on it, which looks good. The car does have all four hubcaps on it now, in some of the photos they are off from when I had new tires mounted, but are now reinstalled. The dash reads 52,XXX miles but I don’t know if this is original, miles may have rolled over. Most of the electrical components work, that said the front turn signals need new bulbs. Also, it is wired up in the truck with a tow wiring harness for towing with a tow bar (those are the wires seen in the image of the trunk), but I have never tested this system so I don’t know if it works. This beetle is not perfect. It looks good; however, it still has some flaws (including a little bit of rust including a small hole under the drivers seat). It also sometimes "pops" out of reverse, but works fine if you keep your hand on the shifter, I read this can happen if the shifter might be out of position and needs to be adjusted but I am not sure what the exact problem is, again it works fine if you hold it in gear. Please only bid if you are serious and understand what I have said above. I have tried to describe the beetle to the best of my abilities, but if you have any questions please feel free to send me a message through eBay before bidding. $500 non-refundable deposit due via PayPal within 24 hours. |
