Description of 1991 Volkswagen Corrado |
I purchased this car recently to "save", but now I am looking into a business proposal, so I need to cut down on toys and focus on what I need to. This car had been with the previous owner for what looks like 19 years, and eventually was leftstanding for several years due to a bad fuel pump. It was sold and the new owner had good intentions, started fitting the new pump, and couldn't complete the task. After owning it for around 2,5 years and never getting it running,he thensold it to me. I completed the fuel pump fitment, and got the car up and running. Shortly after there was a bearing noise from the supercharger, which promptly broke the casing. I decided to pull the charger to repair and rebuild, but opted to search for a good used one. I purchased another charger which had been removed from a running car, so now the charger I removed will be included as a spare. I have not fitted the usable charger and parts back as I have no time currently, but everything is included to get the car running again. There is also a brand new set of plug wires, rotor and capin the box unfitted. The pic of the engine bay was taken prior to removing the supercharger. One pic shows the grille and headlight removed, part of the charger removal process. Another pics shows some parts on the passenger side, these are the parts removed from the engine bay. What I have noted that will need attention/replacing:Sunroof will tilt but not slidePassenger fender has a dent which can be pulled out, or replaced. The paint/clear coathas faded from exposure to the elements due to it standing for so long, and there are some smalldents on the passenger door (looks to be from doors being opened against it)Tires hold air and have plenty tread, but will need replacing due to ageThe cluster is dead, I think it may be the voltage regulator on the cluster ($35 part), so the mileage is what is on the title, and this is what was relayed to me as being the actual mileage. No spare wheelRear seat top seams coming apart from the sunSunroof inner liner material neededBattery I have not been through everything on the car to see if it works, only what I have noted. The body is in really good shape, I haven't seen any rust on the outside or underneath. Color is factory Aqua Blue Pearl. Comes with the original BBS wheels, one center cap is missing. It is in way too good a condition to part out I feel, and really does not need much work, so hopefully it will be brought back to it's former glory and make anotherVW face happy! So, currently the car is not running and will need to be trailered or transported. Any questions you have, please ask, I will answer to the best of my ability. A payment of $250 via Paypal will be due within 24 hours of winning the auction, the balance payable by direct deposit, money order, best time for an ebay auction to endor cashiers check. Funds to be cleared before arranging pick up. HAPPY BIDDING!!!
