Description of 1966 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic |
Up for auction is a very clean 1966 VW Beetle that has an older high level restoration. Body, paint, interior and drive train have all been done. All rubber, glass, felt and chrome is in fantastic condition. The car has been kept indoors or undercover, it's a beautiful example of a well preserved 66. There are only a couple notable flaws on the car, pictures tell the bulk of the story and I captured all damage with photographs. Just below the front bumper on the underside of the body there is a little damage probably caused by a concrete parking block, the front bumper is also not perfect as it has a small imperfection on the passenger side. These are not easy to see without very close inspection of the vehicle. On the engine compartment bonnet there is a very small blemish on the edge where it's brushed up against the rear bumper while opening or closing, it's highlighted by my index finger in the photo. On the interior, there a couple blue ink stains on the white vinyl, also highlighted in a picture which shows size. These are noticeable only by close inspection, fairly small, but we like to disclose everything we can see. The cigarette lighter is MIA, no big deal since you shouldn't smoke in a classic anyhow. Mechanically the car is top notch. The 1300 CC motor has been replaced with a 1600 CC engine, from what we were told by the previous owner. The car runs great and is a kick in the pants to drive, plenty of go with the upgraded engine. 4 wheel disc brakes stop the car on demand. Everything on the drive train seems to be working as it should. Additional pictures can be viewed on our website: maximmotors1.com All this car needs is a loving driver, flower power and some imagination as to where to take it. It draws attention everywhere I drive it, an outstanding conversation starter. We are a licensed dealer here in Grand Junction CO and we reserve the right to end the auction at anytime.
