I am listing this 1974 VW Type 181 Thing convertible for my mother in law who the 3rd owner of this vehicle. She has owned it for around 20 years and has always stored it covered up in the garage when she isn't driving it . This is a very solid vehicle that was repainted sometime back in the 1980's. To the best of my knowledge, what isn't original in this car is all OEM replacement parts. It is a good running and driving car, but is a bit cold natured at the moment and tends to stall more easily until warmed up. The tires have a some years on them, but still have almost new tread and don't appear dry rotted (see pictures). As far as the condition of the body, it has very nice floorpans but has some minor rust bubbles in front of the rear wheels (see the pictures) and a few minor dings and paint chips that are primarily by the drivers side front fender area. If you are looking for a solid VW Thing that needs very little to make it a nice driver, this would be a great car for you. It is located in the Noblesville, Indiana. Contact me through EBAY if you would like to make arrangements to see the car.
