Sterling kit car. Believe it to be a 1974 body. The volkswagen chassis I believe is a 1968. I do NOT have a title for this car. They title these with a volkswagen title which should not be hard to do. The body is in really good shape. The yellow is factory gel coat and the brown primer is where someone has done bodywork in the past. There are no major defects in the body at all. Sand it down with 220 grit, 3-4 coats of a urethane fill primer, wet sand it and it's ready for paint. All the glass is in excellent condition with no cracks. A new master cylinder was put on a few weeks ago as well as new brake lines where they were needed. Brakes work and car stops like it should. The engine is a 1300 with dual port heads and aholly webercarburetor. All valves have been adjusted and the engine runs good. Seems as if someone in the past has rebuilt the engine possibly and added a large cam and headers. Someone in the past removed all the choke parts in carb so it is a little cold natured. Seems to have a performance clutch in it as well. The only wiring hooked upis the ignition to starter. All wiring is there but not all is hooked up. The top goes up with hydraulic cylinders and a hydraulic pump. The cylindersare off the car and shocks are in its place for whatever reason. There are newer seats in the car and they are not bolted down. This car starts, runs, drives and stops. I have not driven the car on the street, just in the parking lot. Iam a large person and have a hard time driving it. Ihave a friend who is a mechanic who is very familiar with Volkswagens who got this going for me. We did not go through everything mechanically. Just what I listed above. There are no warrantieswith this vehicle. Winning bidder is to pay in full within 7 days and a 500 dollar deposit is requiredat auctions ending. I will help with loading if needed and may deliver for a fee. Any questions, call me. 314-974-7538
