Description of 1957 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

This 1957 Single Cab was originally the logoed service truck from the Roanoke Valley Motors Volkswagen dealership in Roanoke, Va. This truck has been owned by my father for the last 2 years and only driven occasionally. This has always been one of my personal favorite VWs, but the time has to come to allow someone else to enjoy this very hard to come by truck.
Work that we have done during our ownership includes a completely rebuilt 36 horse power engine with the correct components such as the bus specific 019 distributor and the correct Solex carb that should be on it. We have also recently put brand new bias ply tires on it that give the truck the perfect period correct look.
The truck is mostly all original sheet metal with the exception of the rockers and dog legs. The bed is beautiful. The front floors have pin holes but are solid considering that they are original. The paint was done several years ago prior to our ownership, and is just a driver quality paint job with flaws in the paint itself. No bubbles or bondo issues. My father had the logos hand painted that are currently on the truck, but it should have the original logos from when it was the service truck for Roanoke Valley Motors. The current logos can easily be removed if so desired with no damage to the paint. The interior is all new, with correct door panels and headliner.
