Description of 1965 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Karmann Ghia Coupe |
Please look at this auction in classic mode on desktop to see proper pictures!
The exterior was repaintedby a previous owner in a non-original metallic gold finish that exhibits a good shine in the provided images. The car sits lower than stock and is fitted with 15″ chrome 5-spoke wheels wrapped in newer rubber withgood tread. The interior features a host of modifications performed by the previous owner including cloth and vinyl bucket seats, matching door panels, a SCAT shifter, body color dash pad, and an aftermarket steering wheel stained with a red finish. I have misplaced horn button, will look for it, but no promises! Gauges and other electrics remain operational and the car has been modified with a push button starter, accompanied by power and electric fuel pump switches fitted to the underside of the dash. The car have been fitted with an aftermarket stereo system prior to my purchase, I elected not to install a stereo or speakers into the rear-mounted speaker box as I didn't really care about the radio much! Power is provided by a 1641cc dual port flat-four that was recently rebuilt, with new jugs, pistons, and heads. The case was aligned and the crank was resurfaced, while the Weber carburetor is newer but was installed by the previous owner. A new clutch was fitted following the rebuild and the car has covered approximately 50 miles since the work was completed. The open exhaust system is missing its trumpet in the pictures, but it is shown on the last picture, It was taken off due to storage, length issue.
This is by no means restored car, but it is solid driver with good mechanics, This video demonstrates the car at startup and idle with a brief walk-around of the exterior. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixOnF-OqzMw
