1993 Volkswagen Eurovan MV Westfalia Camper | Bidding starts at $.99 and is offered with NO RESERVE! A true auction where the last bidder will be the new owner! You are looking at a 1993 Volkswagen Eurovan MV Westfalia. The van is located in Asheboro, NC and you are encouraged to come see the van prior to the auction ending to view for yourself or for a test drive as all sales are final and the van will be sold AS-IS. With that said, we will do our best to describe the vehicle accurately and have included many pictures. If you have any questions or want more information, please contact us PRIOR to bidding on the van. We purchased this vehicle in June 2016 from an insurance auction after the van sustained minor cosmetic damage to the passenger side front fender, lights and hood. The van does have a Salvage title. Please understand this and review the Autocheck report. We have a NC Salvage title in hand ready for transfer. We purchased a parts van (same color and year) from a local source and used it to put this Westfalia back together. The radiator support, passenger fender, passenger front door, hood, corner light and headlight were all replaced. The front bumper was not damaged and is original. No damage to frame or frame rails at all. The inner fender apron was pulled slightly back into place as best as possible. We also had a new windshield and windshield seal installed since the accident caused the glass to crack. We have included pictures of the damage as it was when we bought it as well as after. The Van looks good but it is not perfect by any means. Looks good but under close examination, you can see that the lines to not match perfect on the front right corner. The van does not leak water and is sealed tightly. There was no mechanical damage sustained and the van was still drive-able even after the impact. We have taken this van on a few camping trips and have had a blast in it! It is now time to focus on another project and pass this fun vehicle onto a new owner. If you are looking for a usable, fun camper van then this could be the one! Mechanically, the van is sound. 2.5L engine starts and runs well and is much more reliable than the later model VR6 vans. Automatic transmission shifts good through all gears. The van has just been serviced, passed NC safety inspection as well as had new serpentine belt and both idler rollers installed. No fluid leaks are evident although a slight exhaust leak has seemed to recently developed but is not very noticeable. Mechanically, the van seems to be above average for a 25 year old VW. 177k miles are original and may increase slightly due to test drives. The van has brand new, appropriate, C load rated Firestone tires installed (less than 100 miles) just for transfer of ownership. The interior of this van is pretty remarkable considering its age. We got lots of compliments on how clean it is and how good of shape it is in. What you see in the pictures is what you will be getting. The pop up roof works great and has original mattress pad. The van includes curtains for the windows. The tent canvas is in good shape. There is a small iron on patch from where the original canvas was getting thin from folding it down that has helped seal it back up (see picture). The color of the iron on is nearly identical to the original. Power windows, power locks both work as does all the gauges and heat and AC. The body of the van looks good from 15 feet but does have imperfections expected with a vehicle this age. The rear fiberglass bumper has a minor crack, the pinch welds on the front have seen better days and there are two small rust spots under both front doors (pictured). There is some paint chipping on the front bumper cover. The passenger side A pillar still has some light damage and scuffs from the accident that was not repaired but is not a big concern, just minor cosmetics. Known issues/quirks: As with any older vehicle it does have some personality. 1. The AC blows ice cold but will occasionally blow the fuse for the AC if you do not shut it off before restarting the car. In other words, if you turn the AC off before you restart the car, you are ok but if you forget, just carry a few extra fuses. 2. Speakers for the radio are not great but they do work. 3. Window tint has faded to a light purple color. The rear cargo door has bubbles in the window tint. Does not bother me but may bother others. This van is being sold AS-IS, where-is. A $500 non-refundable deposit will be required within 24 hours of the auction closing via Paypal. The balance must be made by cash or cashiers check upon pickup. If you are going to have the vehicle shipped to you, we can help as necessary but at your expense. Any questions, please feel free to email or contact Doc at 336 253 0635 between 9am and 9pm Monday-Friday (keep in mind we are on the East Coast so take that into consideration when calling). |
