Description of 1965 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia |
This 1965 Karmann Ghia has been sitting in my garage for 6 years. The body was taken off and the engine has been rebuilt. The pans need replacing. The body has no rust damage. The rockers are solid as most of the car is. There is some rust damage on one of the doors. You can see it in the picture. The other door is perfect. The car has been stripped using thee methods. We started with airplane stripper then wheel brush then soda blast. 99% of the paint and bondo are gone. The car is down to bare metal. It has not been treated but has minimal light surface rust. The car is in Las Vegas where it is very very dry. This is basically a rust free bondo free body. You can see all the trim and glass and other stuff in the pictures. The only major piece missing is the speedo. I was offered $1200 for everything so I am testing the waters of Ebay. Somebody is going to have fun putting this thing back together. 5 Spoke empi style rims painted black come with the car. No Shipping. You must come get it. On Feb-18-17 at 10:31:57 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that the car has no bumpers or Speedometer. It has a clean California Title. On Feb-18-17 at 12:09:24 PST, seller added the following information: I have been getting a lot of questions regarding this car. I have gone back and looked at the whole car. There is small rust damage at the edge of the deck lid. The hood is perfect. Both the deck lid and hood have been stripped to metal. Overall the body is in good to better shape than you will find. As shown in the one picture some dents have been repaired with the hole method. The body has No rust and is pretty straight. I will send pictures via email of any part of the car. On Feb-19-17 at 02:51:50 PST, seller added the following information: It has come to my attention that this car may note be a 1965. I have a California Title for a 1965 which matches the number on the chassis. It is clear to me that Pre 1967 Ghia's do not have the gas door so the body to this car is later than a 1965. There is currently one bid on this car. I will be emailing that person to let him know. I will leave the auction up and if there are still buyers, it will sell. Sorry for the misinformation, I truly believed it was a 1965. |
