1966 Volkswagen Beetle CA Top Ragtop body with new, two-tone beige and light green paint Buggy Shop 1776cc Big Bore flat four-cylinder engine blueprinted less than 1,000 miles ago and mated to a Highway Flyer four-speed transaxle. It has a rebuilt 34 PICT-3 carburetor, dual port heads, a performance camshaft, electric fuel pump, remote oil filter, external oil cooler, full-flow oil pump, heater/blower motor and a 12-volt alternator New parts - 135mm clutch and pressure plate, wheel bearings, shock absorbers, brake shoes and wheel cylinders, wiring harness All-reconditioned green and tan interior and new tan cloth top and new carpets Hella headlights and VDO gauges Kenwood AM/FM stereo with CD player and remote control You could say this is like getting two Volkswagen Beetles for the price of one! MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this 1966 Volkswagen Beetle Ragtop. Dressed in a beige and light green two-tone, the paint and trim are in overall excellent condition, including the rain visors over the doors. This bug’s windows are intact and clear, while the Hella headlights and other vehicle lights are in overall very good condition. This bug rolls on 165/80R15 tires, with silver VW moon wheel covers, both of which are in great condition. This bug’s body panels are straight and solid. The tan fold-back roof and the car’s bumpers are also in very good condition. Under the hood is a 1776cc Big Bore flat four-cylinder engine from the Buggy Shop. This engine was blueprinted fewer than 1,000 miles ago and features the following parts – a rebuilt 34 PICT-3 carburetor, dual port heads, a performance camshaft, electric fuel pump, remote oil filter, external oil cooler, full-flow oil pump heater/blower motor and a 12-volt alternator. It also has a Highway Flyer four-speed transaxle and the following new parts - 135mm clutch and pressure plate, wheel bearings, shock absorbers, brake shoes, wheel cylinders and wiring harness. Inside, the green and tan interior has been completely reconditioned. The front bucket seats are in very good order, as is the tan carpeting and the Bug’s headliner. The cream-colored metal instrument panel looks great, as do its VDO gauges and the original, two-spoke steering wheel. The green inner door panels with map pockets are also in very good order. The mirror glass and shift lever look good. Finishing the interior is a Kenwood AM/FM stereo with CD player, remote control and two speakers located in the storage compartment behind the rear seat. Bonus features are a passenger grab bar above the glovebox and a wicker shelf beneath the instrument panel for additional small item storage. Competition to this Volkswagen in 1966 included Chevrolet’s Corvair and Chevy II, Ford’s Falcon, Dodge’s Dart and Plymouth’s Valiant.
