Description of 1964 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

Selling my 64 VW Baja Bug, this is a fun little car that has been in my family for years and before that belonged to a close friend. It has spent most of it's life as a Baja Bug after suffering front end damage early on so it does have some dings and some filler under the back yard paint job I did 10 years ago. There is no rust issues other than the usual rust hole under the battery, the floor pan is dented and scuffed up from years of good timesbut inside stays dry even in deep mud puddles. It is basically a stock swing axle bug with a stock 1600 single port so it won't be winning any off road races but is a very reliable, capable and fun car for exploring and other adventures. The motor is a rebuild that I bought on sale off the shelf at VW shop years ago and is completely stock not sure on how many miles ago that was but it still runs good and uses only a little oil. The transaxle was replaced with a rebuilt one about 5yrs ago and works good, I do not know what gear ratio it has. I fixed it up a little with the paint, cheap interior kit and side trim around 10 years ago since then the front seat have been replaced by more comfortable yard sale seats. The rear seat was removed (and lost)and replaced with a plywood deck for my Dads dog to ride. I recently replaced the throw out bearing, axle boots, throttle cable and 4 new tires. Now for the things that it needs, the biggest issue it has is electrical issuesa new harness would be the best since the stock one has been patched and modified for the last 50 yrs, new ones are cheap and easy enough to install, I always planned on a rewire just never did it. It has turn signal problems last time I drove it, may just be the ground straps going to the lights due to the fiberglass fenders or could be something else. I would also add seat belts, check out the brakes, they work just been awhile since the had anyattention. This is a 53 yr old car that has seen lots of fun and dirt roads so it has it's rattles and battle scars but has been taken care of so it' not a totally flogged beater but it's not a show car either.
