Description of 1965 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Cal Style |
Car is a 65 body on 67 chassis with IRS conversion. I have the tunnel section from original chassis. Shell and doors were stripped bare and blasted. Many coats of DuPont Variprime epoxy primer. This body needed 0 metal and I have the pix to prove it. Everything in the car works as it should. Every problem that beetles have, all have already been addressed here. Older restoration so you know it not going to fall apart. I have been over the mechanicals of this car with a fine tooth comb in past weeks. Although there are a few small imperfections, the paint is excellent (see condition section). You will never find a bug with nicer paint work inside the louvers under the back window. Always covered and lovingly cared for. It has dropped spindles and a lowered beam. Beam is currently all the way up. So car can go much lower especially since it's IRS rear. Trans is from a 74 super so it's a factory freeway flyer. working warm up flap in custom restored/cleaned air cleaner excellent heat / defrost hidden louvers behind license plate new steel fuel line run correctly through chassis IRS conversion is all new bearings and seals Thing axles and Flanges Tri-Mil header with heat riser mod for excellent manifold heat bung in exhaust for OS sensor and Air Fuel Ratio gauge in dash Matching VDO clock and tach beautiful new Sewfine tweed headliner and door panels entire car has Rattle Trap brand tar board with 2 layers in luggage tray all brakes lines are newer including long front to back line 2" CB performance dropped spindles 2" lowered beam which is currently all the way up 67 turn signal with push button high beam switch BRM wheels new sound "pillows" installed behind quarter windows KYB GR2 shocks all the way around. Wide pedal cluster kit and bushing clutch cable upgrade Body to chassis and fender bolts are stainless H4 headlights with euro style running lights Engine is late model dual port. Correct rocker arm geometry. Runs excellent and has correct thermostat and flaps. Excellent smooth idle. 1 wire alternator. Bosch starter. I have owned the car for 24 years and finally transferred title, registered and insured the car in 2010. It was in dry storage for many years of my ownership. Don't be afraid to ask questions or make offers. Car needs absolutely nothing. Can be taken straight to a car show. Can assist with shipping to some extent but buyer responsible for shipping costs. Car is located not far from Port of Tampa and I can drive it there. Local pickup preferred. Can assist buyers who want to have the car evaluated locally. Car can be viewed on a lift. Will assist with car hauler pickup. |
