NO RESERVE! German model Beetle. I'm the 3rd owner. I bought the car from a gentleman who bought it from the sister of the original owner. The original owner has passed away so his sister was liquidating his estate, which this car was part of. The story is, the original owner was in the military, stationed in Europe and bought this car while over there. He had the car shipped back when he came home, so this is a German model Beetle, as is evident by the ignition switch mechanism. The car spent about 2 years in Alabama while he worked at a military base there (as evidenced on the military base bumper sticker). The car even comes with the original owner's Army coveralls. The man then moved back home to Seattle where the car spent the better part of its life. I understand the car was in storage for about 10 years or so at some point. The man I bought the car from owned it for about 2 years and maintained it as a driver. I've used the car in the same way. Radio doesn't work, but is original. Ignition switch doesn't always work, so car has an override push button starter switch located under the driver's side rear seat, next to the tunnel (I have a spare German ignition switch that will go with the car). The car has flaws but is in really good condition for it's age. Car was repainted at some point, over the original paint. Many original parts are still on the car. Even the floor matts are original VW items. Car is still 6v. The pans and undercarriage all appear to be solid. Runs and drives very reliably. I'm currently running Swepco motor oil. Car has all original glass, except for the front windshield. Clutch, flywheel, distributor, coil were replaced toward the end of 2016. I just replaced the shifter bushings. Front end feels tight. Wheels were freshly painted last year. Tires have about 90% tread left (good condition), but need to be balanced (I'm taking care of that). No strange noises or movement. Car is still very tight. Please, ask any and all questions you may have, before bidding. Good luck!
