I bought this truck last year in the hopes of finding time to learn more about diesel engines. I became too busy with school and realize I do not have the capacity to take care of this vehicle as it requires. The previous owners were both mechanics and took great care of all aspects of the truck. This 1981 diesel Rabbit Truck has had three owners total, including myself, and I have a lot of the paperwork about previous fixes and work done.Currently there is a leak in the fuel line, which both the previous owners and myself decided not to fix, at the advice of an outside professional as well; the cost to fix it outweighs the issues presented by the leak. The engine was rebuilt by the first owner, using a VW bus engine, I have the original. The fan belt is missing a cover, more of an aesthetic problem than a functional one. I was informed a cover could easily be purchased online, I just haven't made the time to do so.The antenna is slightly bent, but this does not affect the reception. There is no rust anywhere on the body.I have some of the original paint for touch ups and some of the leather material for possible repairs to the interior. There is a new blue tooth radio installed with new speakers. There is also a blue tooth mic for the purpose of hands free calls. The oil and filters are all current.I've taken the truck on a few small road trips and it performed well. I average 45/50 mpg.
