Up for auction is a 1980 Volkswagen Vanagon camper with an original ASI Riveria poptop fiberglass roof. The poptop goes straight up unlike the Westfalia versions. This is a California version vehicle. It has approximately 80,000 miles on it and I am the second owner. 4 cylinder fuel injected air cooled engine. The exterior is in excellent shape with no dents or scratches to speak of. There are minor rust spots at the usual locations around the windows and the exterior trim pieces. I used rust convertor on all of these spots several years ago and they do not appear to be rusting any further. New windshield and rubber. Engine runs well but could probably use a emissions tune-up to fine tune the performance. All new ignition and fuel parts including gas tank, gas lines, filters, pressure sensors, etc. New plugs and wires and fuel injection electronics. Have 4 new (not yet installed) fuel injectors that go with the vehicle. The refrigerator icebox inside guts were removed years ago and shelves installed so that will need replaced (they cost under $200). Rear bed cushion missing. New rear seat foam and fabric installed. Rear seat folds down to make a bed. Porta-potty under the small stool. Dining table with center post. Have glued up a new dining table made out of solid cherry which needs finished but is included for you wood crafters. Front vinyl seats are in excellent condition. No rips or tears. Door vinyl in great shape. All windows and locks work. Poptop goes straight up and there is a small cushioned board up there which covers part of the opening to make a single bed (needs new cushion/fabric on rooftop area). Poptop does not leak and has a few small surface cracks which have been patched. Tent fabric has a few tears which are minor and patched (you can still buy the original fabric from a shop in CA). All exterior lights, horn, wipers, etc. work. Passed yearly State vehicle inspections. Michelin tires with less than 5,000 miles on them. Some sun fading of the wood coloring on the sink cabinet top and rear window glass wood cabinets. Have new roll of cabinet "T" molding which goes with the vehicle. Heater box flappers and control cable need replaced/lubricated. Pretty much an original ASI Riveria conversion. No stove was installed in the conversion. Has sink and electric (and hand) water pump. 120 VAC exterior outlet for power. 12V interior lights (no auxiliary battery installed but set up for one). In very good shape for a vehicle that is almost 40 years old. Message me with your email if you want me to send you additional pictures showing the minor rust areas and other views of the camper.
