1973 Volkswagen Camper Bus Description 1973 Volkswagen Camper Bus Fresh restoration Pastel White over Marina Blue exterior with white interior Pop-up canopy roof 1.7L flat, air-cooled four-cylinder engine with dual exhausts Four-speed manual transmission Flat screen TV with DVD player, bamboo flooring, sing, wood storage unit Cushioned bed and couch plus side window curtains and roof rackLooking for a Late Bay VW Microbus that has been restored? MotoeXotica Classic Cars can help you with this groovy search. We are pleased to offer this 1973 Volkswagen Camper Bus. This example was made in West Germany in May 1973 and has been recently restored. Finished in Pastel White over Marina Blue, this Loaf's paint and trim are in overall very good order. The bus' windows are clear and crack-free while its lights are intact and in very good shape. Its four radials each surround a steel wheel topped by a factory wheel cover and they look great. All of this Late Bay's body panels are straight and solid and there's a roof rack for additional cargo space. The engine bay is tidy, the battery appears new and the bumpers are in very fine order. The camper top operates well and its fabric and screen are in good order. Flip open the rear hood to reveal the 1.7L flat, air-cooled four-cylinder engine, which breathes via dual exhausts. The engine is mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Inside, the majority white interior presents well overall. The front bucket seats are in very good condition. There is no carpeting under the driver's and front passenger's feet but there are floor mats. Behind them, the flooring changes to bamboo, which looks great. The white headliner is in good order while the black instrument panel is in decent condition, however the oil temp gauge is inoperable. The inner door panels look good, as do the mirrors and the shift lever. Rounding out the forward part of the cab is a modern stereo set into the dashboard. For the rear passengers, this bus has many extras - a small sink, a couch and bed with cushions, a vertical storage unit behind the driver's seat, side window curtains, a hand-painted mural on the back of the middle seat and a flat screen television with DVD player. For the 1973 model year, exterior revisions included relocated front turn indicators, squared off and set higher in the valance, above the headlights. Also, square-profiled bumpers, which became standard until the end of the T2 in 1979, were introduced in 1973. Crash safety improved with this change because of a compressible structure behind the front bumper. This meant that the T2b was capable of meeting US safety standards for passenger cars of the time, though not required of vans. The "VW" emblem on the front valance became slightly smaller. Competition to this VW in 1973 included Chevrolet's G10 vans, Dodge's B-series vans, Ford's Econoline vans and GMC's Vandura models. This bus is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 21,041 miles and not believed to be actual. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! Click here for our VW Bus video!
