Description of 1977 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Riviera (Westfilia) |
This is a VERY nice 1977 VW Tansporter Bus with the Riviera camper conversion. Very similar to the well known Westy or Westfalia conversion but the pop top on the Riviera has much more room. This particular vehicle has a well documented past including a complete engine rebuild and new catalytic converter 30k miles ago (by Precision Engineering). Less than 1000 miles ago Broad Street VPA went through the whole bus, replaced the fuel tank, filler neck, fuel lines, vacuum hoses, filters, all new gaskets (everywhere), oil pump, battery replaced, valve adjustment and way more...$4,000 total. The windshield and brakes (pads, rotors and calipers) have all been recently done. The upholstery is also pretty new and shows very well as you can see in the photos. The paint is in good shape and generally shows very well. It has been "keyed" (scratched) down the passenger side as you can see in the photos, or I would consider this paint in "great" condition instead of "good". We are selling this for the current owner who has owned the bus for about 12 years. He has used it a a surf wagon, driving it daily to our local surf spots but never camped in it. Knowing that he wouldn't be using the camping equipment, the house battery was disconnected when he purchased the bus 12 years ago and none of the camping gear has been touched since. We have not tested the water pump (for the sink), refrigerator or stove. They are all in the van and look like they are in good shape but we don't want to install a new battery without having the wiring checked out first. The odometer currently reads about 21,714 and has rolled over once (121k total miles). Please feel free to contact me for any records or information.
