We are selling our 1986 Volkswagen Vanagon. We bought it last May and had a blast with it--great for camping and weekend adventures--but sadly, we have decided to leave Washington and need to sell. The van (CP30!) is in great shape. We bought it from a van mechanic who kept it in his rental fleet. Since buying it, we rebuilt the cooling system with Reference Automotive in Bellingham, put new tires on it in June, installed a new battery, and put some sweet hand-made curtains in it. It has shag rug on the inside and the interior is in great shape. It also has a great sound system and an aux cord. The bench in the back folds out into a bed that sleeps two very comfortably. The exterior is rust free and there is a great gold paint job on it. The undercarriage is also rust free. As you'd expect with an '86, it has its quirks, but the only time it's broken down on us was when the battery died after leaving the lights on (hence the new one) and when we got a flat tire (hence the new tires). Other than that, we've experienced no mechanical errors since buying it. This is a great, fun vehicle that we are sad to part with but excited to sell to someone who is looking for some adventure. Our asking price is $9,500 OBO.
