Description of 1977 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

Offered for sale is a very nice 1977 Westfalia Camp mobile / Bus in great shape. This is a California Bus. It started its life in Southern California and has been in the Bay area for 30 years. It has a clean 2018 California Title with a recently passed smog test. The vehicle starts right up and mechanically drives very strong. I am the third owner of this single-family owned bus. I use it to drive to work 2-3 days a week.

Valley Wagon Works, a well-known bay area Westfalia / Bus institution has serviced this bus since I have owned it. All of the bus's camping systems work electrical outlets and propane stove. The fridge needs to be recharged. All of the cushions are in great shape with no major rips or stains. I have not actually tried the heater as we hadn't needed it. The secondary battery system worked, but the battery is dead. Some things I have fixed/replaced on the bus:

- Engine rebuilt (5/2012) @167,415 current mileage is 185,xxx

Complete clutch assembly at the same time

- Airflow meter

- Head temp sensor

- Electronic ignition

- Exhaust

- Front Brakes

- New gas lines

- Swivel Passenger Seat Serviced and Spins Easily

- Sliding Door Adjusted/Lubed and Closes Easily

- Front seats have been reupholstered

- New Clutch cable

Mechanically, has a lot of power and starts every time. Shifting is smooth and easy.

The paint is original Avocado Green and is in ok shape with some areas of wear and some other areas of shine. There is some minimal rust and one small dent on the rear passenger side corner from a backup ding - see pictures. The undercarriage and the front footsteps are pretty rust free. There is some rust in the battery tray in the engine compartment.

The pop top roof and seals are in great shape and don't leak whatsoever. The closing/clasping mechanism on the pop top is in fine working order. The tent canvas is in great shape. All screens are in perfect shape with zippers in perfect working order. Bed cushions both up and down are in great shape with original avocado green plaid style. All components are still together with this bus - Original curtains, original table, original snap in bug screening. I even have the original canvas hammock and metal poles to affix over the driver's seats. This bus officially sleeps 5 - 2 up, 2 down and baby in the hammock.

Some extras the bus comes with arethe factory jack, the required shop manuals. Pioneer stereo with new speakers. I have the original standard issue 15-ampere A.C. cord for power hookup. All electrical components work with exception of the cooler/refrigerated compartment- this may be refreshed. Stove and water systems work and I have a full tank of propane on board. As was stated, this camp mobile is ready to go camping tomorrow. There is some wear and tear on the cabinets but this bus was lovingly used for camping. I have a side roll-up awning affixed that works great and brings shade and a touch of class!

This bus is ready to drive off on new adventures.
