Description of 1972 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic VW Bug - Restored - NO RESERVE! |
1972 Volkswagen Beetle Type 1 - Bug (Non Super-Beetle) California car since new Clean Title - Restored The Volkswagen Beetle is one of the most iconic cars in automotive history. Ever since seeing one as a kid, I have always been fascinated with their design, style, dependability, driveability and their place in automotive history. It is considered by many to be as influential and important as the Model T. The original design was so impressive and well made that its basic design was continually built for more than 50 years. Over the years there were many different slight design and styling changes. However, the 1972 model year (Non Super-Beetle) is considered among enthusiast as the last of the best of the VW Bug. You see, by 1972 most of the Beetles were Super-Beetles, because they were cheaper to make. A 1972 non super beetle is very rare and is among the very best. This is for many reasons, but has Hagerty said the 1972 Bug (Nonsuper) "was inexpensive, but it was not cheap. They were well assembled, used first rate interior materials and have the charm that's lacking in the later cars." The 72 is the last model year that truely harkens back and traces its routes to the original design by Porsche. Additionally, this 1972 is one of the very last that was still Built In Germany, before they made the switch to Mexico. It is unlike any other and has completed a recent complete rebuild and is sure to make you proud! This car has had so much time, love, money and passion in the build. Starting with body, it had a rust free underside and pan was perfect template for the ultimate build. The engine is a 1600 dual port, High Power, engine that was recently rebuilt and starts at the slight turn of the key. It has been completely dialed in and can easily accelerate and cruise at highway speeds or more. The transmission is also rebuilt, with a new clutch, cables and my favorite, an EMPI shifter, that feels easy to use much more direct than the "wobbly" original. The interior has fresh carpet, new seats, front and rear, white headliner, working tachometer! The seats have highquailty foam and are extremely comfortable. The exterior of this car is where it really shines. It has beautiful new paint, classic 60's style bumpers, new roof rack, new windshield, new aluminum running boards, trim and very, very cool American Racing wheels from a Porsche 914. Even more impressive, behind those wheels are disc brakes off a Karmann Ghia, a complete swap. This car not only has more power and a very responsive transmission, but can stop as quick as you would like. This Volkswagen Beetle is truly the best of its kind and looks, drives and feels much better than all the other Beetle's on the market. This car is the ultimate: it looks incredible with great styling and new paint, interior is new and importantly comfortable, it has great power and response, excellent shift feel and has upgraded brakes that keep you safe and in control. You will not find a better Beetle like this. The auction is NO RESERVE, so best of luck. Please do all inspections prior to bidding and the sale is as-is, with no warranty, expressed or implied. I wish I didn't have to sell, but due to financial woes, I cannot keep my dream Bug :( Good luck, this Bug is the truly special and I am sure you will love it! |
