Description of 1967 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic |
Herbie 1967 VW Beetle First off I don't know a lot of about Beetles so I will list everything that I know. If I miss something please let me know and I will try to get the answer. I welcome inspections for serious buyers. My time is very important to me and I reserve my spare time to spend with my family so please be respectful of that. This write up will be more factual than an advertisement for the car so I apologize in advance if this is boring. It runs and drives great. It has an electric fuel pump and starts up on the first crank for me. The tires are in excellent condition. The odometer reads 9133 but I am not sure of the actual mileage. I was told by the previous owner that the engine was rebuild with under 10K miles but I have no documentation to support that. It has lots of pep and the car goes down the road quite quickly. It runs strong. It shifts pretty good but second gear sometimes barks on fast downshifts. Clutch catches right off the floor. The seats work perfectly. It has aftermarket seat belts in the front. I don't think there are seat belts in the back seat. Turn signals and brake lights work. It has a remote oil filter as well. The seats are aftermarket and near new condition. The carpet is in excellent condition. Door panels look near new condition. The previous owner had a lot of brake work done on it. I have the receipt for the brake work. It has a new master cylinder and rear shoes and cylinders. Some of the brake lines were replaced too. It stops great and I was impressed how well it goes up and down hills. It recently had the plugs changed and timing reset. It has a carb that is about 2 years old and it is a replacement not the original. The distributor cap and rotor look good. It has electronic ignition but I am unsure of the company. I dont think it has all of the heater boxes. The paint is ok and the decals look good for a driver. The wheels are nice but have some rust spots on them. The windshield has some whitening on the edges. The emergency brake doesnt work. It has a new alternator belt. I was super impressed with how quick this car is. I am not sure if the engine was modified for more power but I would think it has been because of how quick it is. It doesn't have air conditioning but the air flow with the window down and the side windows open really do a great job. I drove it around in 90 + temps and I wasn't too hot. I was impressed with that. Steering feels pretty good and has some play but not that bad. Much less than a few vintage American cars I had. It stays on the road pretty straight. When I brake fairly hard it hasn't pulled on me at all. This is what I know that needs attention. I have the key for the ignition but not for the doors. I believe both door locks work but I don't have the key for them. It has a CD player but I don't think it works or it may not have power to it. It doesn't turn on so I am not sure. The speedometer doesn't work. The drivers side window doesn't go up and down. I have many pictures posted on a hosting site. I probably have 100 pictures of Herbie from all angles. Please email me for the link and I will send it to you. I could only put up 24 pictures here.Sold As Is Where Is. No warranty written, expressed or implied. Cash in person or wire transfer preferred. I can take a cashiers check but I must let it clear as long as it takes. I'm easy to deal with and want to enjoy selling the car. I will help in anyway I can with transport. I can meet the shipper and takes pictures etc. I am happy to help. I want the new buyer to be excited and happy about getting their new car. Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day. :) |
