Description of 1991 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon GL Cloth |
VW Vanagon '91 GL, Very Nice Body & Interior only 89K minimal rust no Fluid leaks Seems to have all systems functioning to spec. AS it APPEARS in very recent done photos, and it Runs,Shifts (and Stops)!2 Owners very org. Condition just turned 89K (yes odometer works) Have all the org. Manuals; Tires receipts and seems AC was converted to RG13 and seems to work sporadically. Also a more modern Alpine Stereo Upgrade a few years back. I usually have a lot to describe for my vans (I'm a M'n Japan zealot) ie. Toyota Previa, Mitsubishi Delica, etc. Don't know a lot on these but learning. I've had my search on for a year though for a clean Dead Westy camper Shell for an Subaru transfer.Well, I've never seen an example this nice locally so have grabbed it, but wasn't cheap! Am Deciding that the learning curve to maintain well is too great and am very busy with my egg vans.Plus frankly you Samba folks seen to pay a lot for vintage/remanufactured parts. This is truly exceptional mechanically and more importantly bodily. Absolute minimal rust (like a Cal car) and none underneath, seems never to have been hit though are some little soft dents on panels and on roof. Fiberglass Bumpers have a few rough corners. ALL doors have that beautiful aligned sound and feel. All the locks and gauges wipers, sprayer blinkers seem adjusted correctly. Even all the little interior lights on/off with door opening closings.Engine is/was running a bit rough (stored 2 years) but seems to be getting better by the minute and has no leaks or burning of any fluid Except carbon from the side of the final muffler Box. Seems forward section is replaced with stainless pipes.I turned idle screw left and seems idling just fine at about 1K and no longer dropping down at stops. Would like claim credit but really just think a tank of new regular gas (I drove about 70 miles locally)Was misfiring a bit, I found two wires off the mass air sensor, did a quick repair and now seems running well. I have no confidence nor am qualified in assuring this vehicle for distance driveaway Trans is a non-factor as seems smooth and secure shifting as when new. Brakes seem fine and E-brake secure. ONE Caveat needs a muffler, just that final big tube section its coming apart at the end seams yet not very loud.
