Awesome 1961 Volkswagen Single cab. A true barn find and one of the ones written about in October’s issue of Hot VW’s Magazine. This single cab has a lot of original history to it and the interior is in INCREDIBLE condition. It still has the VW dealer oil change sticker in the cab from Colorado, it has the 1963 tourist Mexico stickers in the front and rear windows where it was driven into Mexico. It has a 1961 parks sticker on the windshield but I cannot tell from where and lastly an old Mississippi State University sticker on the drivers side window. I think these are so awesome in telling the history of the truck. It had an old suicide knob still on the steering wheel also! The bed metal was removed years ago because the truck was being used to haul something wide and there for the bed sides had been removed as well and stored away, hence the color difference. The rear gate was not found. They bed metal is available so it is not a big deal at all to replace. All of the braces are in tact and look fine. The original front floor mat is in tact and the floors underneath look very very good! Only spots I have found there are on the drivers side, 2 spots the size of less than a dime. The dog legs are AMAZING! Around the windshield still has shined paint and zero rust!!!!!The treasure chest will need some floor repair as they all do and the rocker just below will need some repair. The front nose and underneath the nose is very solid which is very unusual for these buses!!!The inside kick panel and door panels are in great shape! The underneath is solid and has surface rust but no rot on the frame and the outriggers are solid as well. Original paint, Dove Blue. The rear bumper pictured is not included in the sale. It has since been removed. The rear gate matches are with the bus but you will need the ones that attach to the cab. The motor looks to be original and the condition is unknown, so certainly I would think it needs replaced. The brakes are locked as well. This single cab is amazingly solid for having been in storage sine the 80’s and has such cool history attached to it. Feel free to ask questions, come view or have someone view for you prior to bidding as your opinion could vary. It is sold as is. I will be happy to provide the videos of pulling it from storage to the winning bidder.
