Description of 1966 Volkswagen Type III chrome |
for auction Today,1966 Volkswagon Fastback currently not runnin, not registered, since 2014 the last sticker on license plate. it needs some work and restoring. it would be agreat father son project, no body would complain driving this around town.it’s Been parked in a basement for the last 20 years, the odometer reads 146,000 mile, the owner says he believes it’s a blown crank tube is problem but never had the time to examine it fully. A lot of options to consider when buying a vehicle like this, what to do? do you I rebuild this motor, keep it all original? Buy another type 3 motor rebuild? Put a V8 in it? anything goes cause it’s smog exemtpt. My thoughts in keeping it and restoring it were to instaling a type 1 Volkswagen motor in it and converting it from 6 volt to 12 volt system.Just thought about important information, the owner said he bought car from europe and the steering wheel was on the right and that he transferred it to the left. which allso means it would be easy to transfer back if the new buyer wished. also the car is 6 volt system and comes with 2 batteries one holds a charge and one dosnt. also comes with customized license plates ( VW FASTY) the motor is air cooled. and car is made in germany, for those not knowing. I have pink slip in hand, clean title not a salvage, no accidents i’m aware of. the car is located in Pacifica California and local pick up is preferred. and pick up needs to happen fairly fast after auction ends, car will need to be towed to new owner, at owners expense, i think AAA is a possibility for a local tow,?car needs to be moved within a few days if not sooner after auction ends, the house is being sold and it needs to be removedfeel free to ask question, i will do my best to answer any questions. Car is sold, (as is ) ( No refunds) ( No Reserve)thank you for looking at our auction!GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY HOLLIDAYS!! |
