You are looking at my 1965 Volkswagen California Drag Bug project. This is an original RUST FREE 1965 VW Beetle originally from the AZ desert. The car was completely stripped down and painted in and out. The intent was to build a really fast bug like I remembered driving as a teenager but life sometimes gets in the way. I have another project that I have been trying to finish for years and want to focus my time on that so this one has to go! This is NOT a fire sale and I know what I have so please do not make any low ball offers. I will consider all reasonable offers so please consider what you are looking at. The drive trainalone is worth over $5,000. There is WAY too much to list so I will do my best to give all the details, but call me for more information. PLEASE DO NOT ASK THE RESERVE AS I AM NOT DISCLOSING THAT INFORMATION. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN A BUY IT NOW CALL ME TO DISCUSS. DETAILS:BODY:Body was stripped, dents removed and painted inside and out including engine bay and trunk. Smooth fiberglass 3" wider fenders installed front and rear, fiberglass running boards and "W" fiberglass rear deck lid. 1 piece cal bug door glass installed and keeps water out VERY well. All new cal bug window seals installed. New front windshield, original quarter windows and original rear glass installed and in excellent condition. Body is in GREAT condition with very minor surface rust on the inside floor pan - VERY SOLID car. New door seales and striker plates installed - doors open and close beautifully. New side and hood trim installed with new clips and boots. Silver powder coated roof rack installed.Wiring works complete wire harness kit included with main harness installed from trunk to engine bay.Original wing windows and door glass come with the car. DRIVETRAIN:BRAND NEWcomplete ready to run 2180cc dual port engine that has never been started! Features all new parts: Dual carburetors, MSD distributor,MSD 6AL ignition and blaster coil,Bosch alternator, billet valve covers, chrome tins etc. The only things you need to fire it up are fuel lines, wiring (new harness is included) and exhaust. Also included is a BRAND NEW limited slip trans-axle built to handle this engine's power, including the axle tubes and CV joints. SCAT Drag Fast shifter, new starter and Empi trans axle strap kit included. SUSPENSION AND BRAKES:Car is sitting on stock suspension currently. Included with the car are the following BRAND NEW parts: 2" narrowed adjustable axle beam, CB Performance2-1/2" dropped spindle front disc brake kit with Porsche 5-lug bolt pattern, CB Perfromance rear disc brake kit with parking brake and Porsche 5-lug bolt pattern, rear axle bearings and a set of Centerline Galaxy 16x7 billet wheels with Toyo Proxes T1-S tires, size 195/50-R16. INTERIOR:Original un-restored front seats are included, there is no back seat. New TMI headliner pad and ivory perforated headliner installed along with coat hooks and assist straps. New TMI carpet under padding and charcoal carpet kit installedfront and rear. I did not glue the carpet kit down fully so I could remove it if necessary while finishing up the build. New TMI ivory door panels installed with new clips and boots, along with new window regulators and a set of EMPI billet door handles and window cranks. Original speedometer and new fuel gauge installed, new ivory grab handle and stainless dash trim and billet ash tray knobinstalled. Original turn signal switch and steering column installed.
