You are looking at my 1971 VW Beetle Baja. This car is in driver plus condition. The paint is a deep wine red color. It does have some chips/scratches from enjoying it. This car has the fiberglass off-road style nose, fenders, hood, and rear deck. It also has the side nerf bars, and front / rear tube bumpers. All glass is in great condition. The stock seats(nice), carpet and headliner are still in it. Also has the trunk carpet. Chrome Cragar SS wheels with wide tires. Headlights, taillights, dash lights, and turn signals work. Also wipers and fuel gauge work. The stereo wouldn`t come on, not sure if a loose connection or ??, haven`t messed with it. The engine is a stock 1600 with a 4 speed trans. It has dual port heads, 009 distributor, alternator, chrome accessories, electric choke, electronic ignition, and headers. Has new shocks. This car drives and stops as it should. There is no heater due to the engine having headers. Winning bidder also gets a pair of rear pop-out style side glass(HTF). I took this car on trade, (on a Manx buggy) and I have since purchased another Manx body, so (if the car doesn't sell this time around I will probably part it out to build the Manx). I have a clear title in hand. NO personal checks or wire transfers of any kind accepted, I prefer CASH in person. $500 non-refundable deposit by PayPal within 24hrs after purchasing the car. Buyer must pick up the car in Metropolis IL 62960. I can help with loading if having it shipped. Shipping is the buyers responsibility. Please email me for cell # if wanting to talk about it, thank you. I am sure I have forgotten something. These VW`s are getting harder to find. I am open to serious offers, I know what it costs to build these, it is not my 1st Baja. I have had several questions about payment; I will accept a CASHIERS check from anyone who is having the car shipped. That being said the check MUST clear before the car will be released to a shipping company. If picking it up yourself then CASH in hand. I have done it this way in the past with no problems(sold several vehicles here on eBay) and seems to work well for both parties. The engine runs great with no smoking or knocking. The passenger side of floor pan has been replaced with a drop in style replacement, the brownish color on underside of car is undercoating(not a fluid leak). The front beam is very solid and has adjusters added for lifting / lowering. If you would like to see it in person please let me know. Thank you for looking at my Baja. I have added pics of the underside, front beam adjusters, and the shock towers.
